It's barely 20% faster than a 3080 while costing almost 3 times as much. It was only a "flagship" by virtue of being the most powerful in the 30 series lineup. So it wasn't impressive that a 4090 can beat it by 70%. 5090 doesn't give good price to performance ratio, but that's how halo product supposed to be. It's for those who want the best of the best, money isn't an issue. A 30% performance uplift is pretty standard, and 50% more vram is nice. With a better CPU, we'll see what the 5090 is capable of yet.

Glad I’m 48 and out of the PC building and gaming scene. I liked it better when we had decent hardware at fair prices. The used markets weren’t full of scammers and crypto miners selling fake or burnt out gear, and the performance of said hardware was published, clear, and accurate. Thankfully, the potato I have runs all my older games just fine with a lowly single fan RTX 2060 which was built with Samsung vram chips so it should last quite a while longer I think. I’ll just snack on popcorn and watch.

But when I use motion blur and no frame gen, it feels way better. Obviously the latency would be better if I had native 60 fps. But this shows that frame gen can't substitute for real frames. For unreal Engine games you will need a strong gpu for hitting 60 fps 4k.example black myth wokong.

AND controller latency, because it's still calculated on your raw FPS, not your FPS *after* DLSS. And it sucks. At some point, consumers have to understand they're being played, and that we've reached a ceiling in technical progress and computing power. Now, they're being sold fake/bad frames, in products that don't make a freakin' difference anyway because no, you can't make a difference between 1440p and 4K, between ray tracing and without ray tracing, and between 120fps and 250fps. For some people there’s a latency issue after using dlss 4. Even if doesn’t happen to everybody, you have to realize at some point latency is better than fake doubling frames, because you’ll lose that immersion with how long it’d take.

The process node can hardly shrink anymore without charging exponentially more than even the 50 series. I'd be shocked if we get the 60 series on a 2nm process node for an "affordable" price. Nvidia have been sandbagging performance for decades, they work on several series at a time and give incremental performance gains because that is in their best financial interest. To be fair the 1:00 is not the issue of upscaler but an issue of raytracing and its in CP77 even in native, so its all on CDPR side. RT is extremely borken with plethora is such visual glitches in CP77 sadly and CDPR dont care anymore to fix it. Othewise excellent and funny video as always.
