Omari built Ghost to be a character that we all love and some hated. But I heard the real problem was Starz and Courtney Kemp had a problem with his wife being on the site. FYI, his wife was the one that convinced him to take the role. Power has not been the same since they killed Ghost off.

I’ve seen Omari being interviewed on shows like GMA and TODAY where he stated that he was leaving POWER because he didn’t want to be type casted and how he wanted to be free to pursue other opportunities. He also stated that the show was only supposed to be 1 season and how he’d more than met his original obligation by staying on for those extra seasons. Finally, during Season 5, Omari made it very clear that he would not be returning to POWER after Season 6. To now state that the reason for his departure was because of some behind the scenes drama seems disingenuous at best and a feeble attempt at regaining his fan base at worst. IMO, he became arrogant because he was starring in one of the most, if not the most, successful show being aired at that time. That arrogance led to his departure and if his career decisions had resulted in the opportunities he’d envisioned, you wouldn’t hear the names 50 Cent or Courtney Kemp come out of his mouth. When all the networks changed their programming to max 10 episodes, Omari had the opportunity to pursue other projects and remain on POWER as well if he wanted too. He didn’t want to be on POWER any longer. He made the decision, don’t cry about it now.
@brinardtalks
@brinardtalks Жыл бұрын
@@Thegenesis757 I can see your point too. Maybe some truths you aren't comfortable with sharing at a specific time or a specific person. Maybe he was finally healed in this area of hurt and comfortable enough to go into the actual true story with his friend Jon here. There's also the fact of considering at the time he gave those interviews, just like you said, his career opportunities from that point forward were his concern and he didn't want to risk being blackballed in hollywood because spoke ill of CK.
@Thegenesis757
@Thegenesis757 Жыл бұрын
@@brinardtalks If Courtney Kemp held power in entertainment as some would lead us to assume, shouldn’t he still be concerned about how these comments would be received? Don’t get me wrong, I think Omari is one of the best in the business. I didn’t like it when he stated that he didn’t want to be type-casted and was planning to leave, and I equally didn’t like it when he was “killed”:off. Omari was fully within his rights to stay or go as he pleased. Although his character was “killed”, there are ways that his character could return if he wanted to come back. He could’ve stayed, he wanted to leave, he left, didn’t get the results he wanted so how’s that someone else’s issue. Nope, bruh needs to be honest with himself; he messed up and now he regrets it because he’s not working as he’d assumed he would. His agent should have done a market survey before he made any major moves.

Omari built the Starz channel with Ghost. Nobody was watching Starz before power and the other shows and spin-offs wouldn't have came to light without him putting his best work forward as that character. I mean everything is created around him even the spin-offs he's mentioned. Even in the Kanan series he's gone to be mentioned at some point. So yeah they owe that man. Courtney said something about going to Netflix or something. But her bumping heads with him seems interesting. Hopefully they give that man his flowers and ghost is not dead.

Crowbarring her face in front of the cameras with the recaps, the “after shows” and her going Live each week. She didn’t like the fact that we didn’t care about her, we wanted Ghost! Raising Kanan and Force are their own entities. We grew to love the brutality of Kanan and Tommy, so we want to see more of them one way or another. Tariq's show however, was built off of Ghost. I mean, the show's name is Ghost. No one really cared about Tariq or where he was going in life, people are only invested in it now because big names like Mary J and Method Man are regulars and there is an invested interest to see if Tariq will become like or better than his father. But it all stems directly from Omari's amazing portrayal of Ghost. This explains why he never came back as the character, and he deserved his respect after realizing his worth. He held the show and network on his shoulders. I wish him all the best.

The spin offs are cool and grew on us but not the same without Ghost. Tommy's joint started off slow but then picked up and shet got real. I hope the powers that be don't continue to suck themselves off so hard that they don't allow the real talent to be just that talent. Be the smart executives and allow the Artists to express themselves without limitations and bs egos. #BringBackGhost

The whole Power drama was always intriguing. Those that were following stuff bts saw this whole thing crack over the years. From 50 always going at Starz for not pushing the show the way they should’ve to, if we’re saying the fall out started around season 2-3, having that information in mind, looking back, that’s when the writing started planting seeds of Tariq ‘killing’ Ghost. And the way season 6 wasn’t even remotely hiding that they gonna kill him off was always off to me, that’s why I’ve not watched one frame of Book 2. Never will. If I’m not mistaking, didn’t Courtney actually say she wanted to kill off Ghost way earlier cause nobody was ‘off limits’??! Once you start looking at everything it’s kind of obvious what happened. And now look at Starz, 50 is gone, Courtney has a Netflix deal and the network is all of a sudden bringing back Spardecus??? They’re trying to do a demo shift again. Power Universe is gonna go from running the network to just being there as commodities.
@brinardtalks

The biggest sign that there was a major change at Starz was when they picked up the Spartacus spinoff idea they cancelled 10 years ago. They know the Power universe is carrying the network now and that whole dynamic is in question

@@brinardtalks said it the moment that Spardecus announcement came out, demo change! Like I said, they’re gonna put everything in that show coming back and Power universe will become a commodity if it ain’t already cause that 1.99 or whatever they’re pushing for 6 months for Lionsgate+ is embarrassing.

Word is Courtney kemp was always mad that Omari brought his wife on the set and kemp was also having a “relationship” with like a stunt double or staff member, so with all that going on and Omari not budging about not bringing his wife to set she decided to change his character making him more of an asshole so the fan would hate him making it easier to kill him off. She always said that she uses some of her actual life experiences for the show as well (mainly her divorce). We all know that’s a really sensitive way to make shows or anything for that matter. She’s a major control freak that’s why she’s not the main producer on the spin offs 50 knows she’s a weirdo as well

And the beauty in this decision is that we all have a right to watch whatever we want to watch on TV, we all have a right to pay are streaming service bill every month for shows that we enjoy watching. Omari Hardwick playing the character of James St Patrick, aka Ghost, even if he is a little different, corky, or whatever y'all want to call him as an individual. When it is time to say action, and he begins acting his character, he is flawless with it. Obviously, I don't know what has happened on the inside with the suits that are in charge, or the showrunners, or the writers, or 50 cent but what I do know is I am of a particular age and I have watched a lot of movies and TV shows in my time and this man is amazing, excellent, and should not have been killed off in my opinion. As good as all the series have been, it think they will all fall short in most fans eyes if Ghost doesnt come back. With the success if the spinoff though, this time will give whoever needed their vindication that the series doesnt need Ghost will get that, and the time will heal Omaris biterness about what happened.
