Okay one challenge I thought of yesterday. Spain's ultra tiki-taka at the Euros 2012. Five playmakers in midfield (in Spain's case Xabi Alonso Sergio Busquest Xavi Iniesta and David Silva) and a false nine. The five midfielders must be in an actual playmaking role. Extra bonus for a strikerless formation with SIX playmakers instead.

If you redid this one but using the ingame editor changed their ability in their positions so that they can no longer play any other position than the position you are gonna play them in (I.E Mbappe is only trained in centre back) so that the assistant doesn't want to change them in game any more.

This was always a problem trying to retrain players into "normal" positions too.. you Assistant Manager would not accept a LB being retrained as a LW, and would switch them to LB whenever they got the opportunity..

I would love to see 10 players on defence mentality and one attacker. Cross often on everyone, only long balls.

It shows that the physical attributes mean more than the particular technical attributes for defending in the game. Real Madrid are a seriously over powered team so it's not a surprise that it went so well, a tester would be to do the same with a team like Everton who are a strong team physically but not as good technically, see if they would get relegated.

It would make sense, if the match engine puts a huge premium on physical attributes. RM team are physical beasts.

Hilarious and fun video though I don't think the results are that shocking. The RM team is filled with ballers plain and simple. Physicals matter, but add to that they all have above average technique and mentals the end result is not too surprising to me at least. If you tried that approach with a mid-table team or a relegation candidate, I would expect them to get smoked as the overall player quality is significantly less than RM.

That's wild - so position knowledge really means nothing. It's just about the attributes and not if they even know what that position/role is supposed to do. Sure Mbappe struggled as a defender but your attack didn't miss a beat and it's not like you gave up 5 goals per game or something. Most games were 0-2 goals allowed, even when you ensured you had full control. So I'm guessing trying this in say Sky Two or lower would be disastrous (or at least wild, maybe a ton of high scoring games since no one could play defense) because they don't have a lot of those 16-18 in physical skills with 12-15 in a lot of technical and mental ratings? Next idea - a Cross Formation. Striker: 2 strikers AM: AM-C CM: ML, CM, CM, MR DM: DM-C Defense: 2 CDs and of course the Keeper. I think you could manage it.
