I respectfully disagree. When you're a parent you have an obligation to put your kids first. Children who's parents are dating and have romantic partners in their lives are over 66% more likely to be physically or xu. ally. abused. And over 84% more likely to be emotionally abused. And the numbers are likely much much higher than even this because a lot of people don't report the abuse understandably. When you CHOOSE to have kids you are deciding to put your wants and needs behind theirs for the next 18 years. Tons of people are like but my partner wouldn't do that, and that's what every parents who's kid was ended by a bf/gf stepparent thought too. How could anyone know these statistics and still think my want to not be alone trumps their safety? Look at this very case. She's lucky he only ended her and didn't go after her children too. It's still very sad what happened to her and now her kids are growing up without a mother.

It shouldn’t be, but read up on victimology and you’ll understand. Her sister’s remark about her wanting to experience what she missed plus the bag full of sex toys could indicate something of behavior that might have attracted a predator. Meh who cares? The truth is having a stash of that kind of thing is kinda gross. And you never know how long you will be on this earth. If something happens, even with natural causes...strangers sometimes but usually family goes through everything you own EVERYTHING. The get rid of it or it becomes an inheritance. My advice, don't keep that stuff. Kids too can easily find it and can cause all kinds of uncomfortable situations. And if youre put in this situation they can talk about it.

Absolutely not. I knew Nancy and her children. She was a dedicated mother and hard worker with a normal life. Her house was on a curve where she could be abducted without being seen by neighbors (if the deputy mentioned was no longer in place).. Husband Bill is as true blue honest as he appears in the documentary. I suspect someone lured her out to their car from the porch, then quickly, grabbed, subdued and kidnapped her. Besides the suspects named here, there were railroad workers from out of town working just across the road (so I have been told.) The focus on sex toys is ludicrous and sensationalistic. It is a mystery I pray we can solve one day for the sake of her family. Where is she?

For people moaning about these being repeats not all of us saw them first time around. I for one am grateful that they are being shown. Unfortunately with this first case it seems like no-one has been convicted though my money is on the butcher. In other cases that I watch I can look for updates and see how much time the perpetrators got etc. Yes we all know these are about real people and real lives . No, I have not lost someone to murder and I am truly sorry to anyone who has and the crimes themselves are of course are horrendous .However I still don't think it's wrong or makes me a bad person when I say that I enjoy watching these programmes . I enjoy seeing perpetrators brought to justice and also trying to fathom out what may have happened myself. Also seeing the dynamics going on in court cases when I watch things about crime.

People complaining that it is victim blaming clearly get on their high horse for any ridiculous reason. They hear from family and friends about what she was like as a person, especially since she was known to go out and “try things” she never done before (a reason she god divorced) but when they start investigating they come across items that very well could open the door to the truth. It’s not victim blaming not once did they say or imply that. It’s being honest with “what could have” happened. The one avenue of many. There also could have been other things that were found sex wise that have not been released so they may have more info than everyone claiming “victim blaming” does. She could have met someone for some sexual activities and willingly left the house with them. End of the day its exactly the same if they find out she has been having argument with a friend before her disappearance, they would investigate that as a possibility. The sex toys lead to a sexual life one she shared info with her sister so that is a route that needs to be investigated and ruled out. Thank god the majority of y’all commenting aren’t investigators because nothing would get done.

This comment section is ridiculous. They mentioned the bag of sex toys once and her sister was the one who admitted that she was having relations with many men and being secretive about it. There are many murders that are sexually connected and officers would want to know as many of her connections as possible. Most murders of women are committed by someone they know. If she wasn't letting anyone else know the men she was connecting with, that makes ot difficult to be able to investigate everyone. I didn't find their coverage or the detectives' comments the least bit offensive. Nothing was shaming. Everyone just seemed to get on the "I'm 72 and have a giant bag of sex toys. I'm offended that anyone would talk about that if I disappeared or was murder! How dare you!"
@FoxExcess
@FoxExcess 8 ай бұрын
Most murders period are by people known to the victim. That's not some trend with women only. "Nothing was shaming" Are you high? Read the title. "Did single mom's shocking sex life LEAD to her disappearance?" First off it's not remotely shocking, second they're clearly implying she's just being reckless and screwing random guys all the time, even going further. Yet the evidence doesn't remotely show that. All it shows it that she masturbates and goes on some casual dates. The only thing that LEAD to her disappearance was the person who committed the crime. That is not a victim's fault. The title is not only stupid, but what parent would want some two bit news program commenting on their sex toys in tv programs that millions of people are going to see, including their kids. You wouldn't want that, so stop acting like nothing is wrong here and that all these people are just crazy who are not happy about how this was talked about. You see nothing wrong with a cop finding some sex toys and then going on a program saying that she could have just up and left her kids because she was just so into sex? Seriously buddy, get a clue.

I attended the first Crimecon's Crowdsolve before I knew about how crooked the owners were. They focused on this case and Karen Bodine. I'm a forensic social worker and I have never seen such a coordinated effort to taint this case. They actually handed out statements from people who were not even listed as persons of interest or witnesses, completely unredacted.The Thurston County Sheriff's Department helped sponsor the event and cohosted it. I saw such disregard for investigative principles that I went out of my way to talk to the owner of Crimecon at the event and wrote leadership repeatedly. They didn't care. In addition, there was a confession and a full dig about 2 months before this event. Thurston county Sheriff then said he retracted his confession and claimed they needed a lot of time to look at new DNA tech. That was 2019. The police and Crimecon look in the eyes of Nancy's family, making all kinds of promises, as if the morons who attended Crowdsolve would solve this case. They don't screen who attends these events. There were 2 groups there that really concerned me: 1) rich housewives from California 2) people who probably want to do terrible things to women and get away with it. I literally watched the California wives take the information off these police statements and go camp out in front of their homes all night. After seeing that level of mishandling, I feel confident that the Thurston County Sheriff's Department cares far more about getting on TV than solving homicides. I live right down the street from Nancy. In 2017, a woman was decapitated and it didn't even make the news. Several children have survived attempted kidnapping. These idiot KZbin channels don't mention this, but this area has a lot of violence towards women because even though it's rural, it's also adjacent to one of the largest military bases in the world. I'm also a former military social worker specializing in SV and military service. I actually offered to help with this case and the Thurston County Sheriff declined. They hate us social workers. We're "too woke" Now, I have a cyberstalker. Rando in Texas that I've never interacted with. He's been stalking me for 2 years. The Thurston County Sheriff's Department refused to take a police report for an entire year. They gaslight me, talk over me, and literally refused to take a huge 3 ring binder of evidence I personally brought to their station. I know this is the revenge I get for speaking up about this and don't care. I'm a published scientist who was trained by Dr Hare to perform the psychopath test. I worked in 5 prisons. I could get far more done to help these families but no one in true crime wants my help. They can't stand real experts. oh, and Crimecon paid fake experts for their attempt to work this case at Crowdsolve. "Statement analysis" is not a scientific method. It was taught at this event by a guy with nothing beyond a bachelor's in English. The people who attend these events support a commodification of homicide and rape that makes solving these cases even less likely. Imagine what this does to the families. Giving them false hope on stage with hundreds of people in the audience? It's really sick. Also, there's no evidence she was a sex worker. The actual statements from character references suggested she was promiscuous. Men in Tenino are very quick to claim a woman is promiscuous for 2 reasons: she's a liberal or she doesn't want to sleep with you.

Every psychologist will tell you the same, kids are happier to be from a broken home than living in a broken home. Staying in an unhappy marriage and kids forced to watch that is scarring to kids. It is entirely backward psychologically to think divorce is bad for kids, it staying in unhappy marriages that is bad for kids. #divorceliferules #proudlydivorced #victimblaming??? Maybe he cheated, was she meant to stay? Maybe he wanted the divorce? Maybe he was depressing to be around and sucked all joy out of her life?

The investigation always finds dirt in people's personal lives and brings it out. I feel sorry for her family

I understand why people are saying her sex life is not anyones business but it is police business, like it or not.

Was this episode made in the 1950s? The victim blaming and pearl clutching from both the presenters and the police in the first case is hard to watch! Imagine a single dad starts going out and enjoying his single life. When they search his house they find a big stash of porn - would they even think any of that was worth mentioning?

Men having casual sex is encouraged, while murdered women get shamed for it.

She probably knew the person who took her. Let him in and he probably assaulted her killed her and took her. If I were the investigator I'd be looking close

Why does her enjoying having sex have anything to do with her getting murdered? That just doesn’t sit right with me.. I feel like they are victim blaming a bit

Notice how her sex life is exposed and all the sudden "She may have left on her own.." That's so wrong. That s*** burns me up

The cops dropped the ball at not following her husband’s every step and not pulling phone records after that neighbor called this.

It's so crazy for me when the parents of the murderer get to keep the victims children.
