Am I the only one who realizes Eminem has set a bar and made a comfort blanket for the old rappers to come back and spit their shit. Like people were hating on Eminem for being too old and this and that. But he kept going and set a standard. Now it’s not as corny for a Nas or Snoop Dog or LL Cool J to start dropping albums and people actually tune in. It’s a beautiful thing, instead of people saying “if you rapping past 26 you’re corny” now it’s like you can rap in your mid 50s if you’re still bringing that heat. It’s amazing and definitely an integral part of keeping a consistent longevity for the art of rap itself.
