Wiggling of the lead rope is a way to communicate without having to bump or yank on the lead rope. He much prefers the wiggling lead rope to any other technique. Look up Carson James trainings if you're not sure why or what this is done. I'm still working on some of the respect issues that cropped up while Yggdrasil just has had to have calm, gentle training. He is normally a very high energy horse.
Usually Yggdrasil is much calmer about turnout. Since he'd been in for like a day here and he was feeling better overall, he was extra spicy. I'd been told he'd been a real handful for the barn staff too and so I had to work with him. I guess at least he took a couple of steps away before he blasted off. Most of the time, he'll just walk slowly away from me. I guess he's starting to feel better? .... He still can't run on a circle (lungeing), but he sure got the moves here.
