With the USA auctioning new oil licenses at an unprecedented rate, the EU is pushing to make a renewable classification for burning trees to produce electricity, the world's usage of coal increasing by 9% in 2021 and Australia still refusing to take any meaningful action on reducing their use of fossil fuels only to mention a few negative things. I don't see how the world can avoid seen and unseen tipping points with its current leadership. We need to reduce emissions by 50% by 2030 too ensure we don't reach a point where the earth has lost so much of its forest, its ice albedo effect and CO2 levels are so high that the earth it starts starts heating itself. We're still heading in the wrong direction. We need to mobilize worldwide to remove all the fossil fuel backed politicians from office as fast as we can. Not just the youth us old people do.

True. I’d argue we need even stricter reductions than 50% by 2030, but there’s no doubt we’re not doing enough. However, I think the conference was one of the “most” impactful of any recent meeting (not saying much), and got the ball rolling on some key issues, just not quite enough especially with coal as you mentioned. but, I’m still hoping we can accelerate these proposals in the coming years to avoid the worst…
