Great update! We use Wet and Forget (Costco) on everything in our garden we have the same stones and similar slabs. Works fantastic we do it in spring and going into winter. We put it on everything wood too. Thank you for this video.

treating the stone and paving to some Wet and Forget after you have power washed your patio will reduce the green returning quickly (apply it to dry paving)

Renovation idea for you... Maybe a summer time job but if you wanted to you could paint the fence / door / wooden separation wall, and I can highly recommend Cuprinol Ducksback. I went with Autumn gold which looks really nice.

A row of Roses would be nice along the side wall NG and give nice colour from June to Nov? Roses also good for taking in water. Bare Root season now so cheaper to buy at this time of year.

This video was so helpful thank you 🙏🏻 i want to do a gravel driveway on the cheap to cover my front garden, if i dug out 10cm all round, Layed 5cm of MOT type 1 or whatever MOT is best and compact it, then some strong geotextile weed fabric, then the gravel grids filled with 10mm stone then topped with 20mm stones so they dont get stuck in tyres etc . Would the rain water drain ok through all of that? No worry of it draining towards the house? Front garden is pretty much level

What would you do if you don’t have a drain to connect the pipe to in your garden? Would you recommend digging a deep hole and connecting it to an inlet? Don’t really want to create a huge gap to the turf just a narrow channel

If you spray those stones with some benzalkonium chloride (bac50) once a year it should prevent them going green. It's the active ingredient in products like wet and forget but you can buy it on its own in a concentrate and it'll work out much cheaper

My mom uses this, shes got the same stone. Works a treat

Sorry to hijack this, but do you know if Bac50 is safe to use on stones next to grass please?
@fishgrimsby Жыл бұрын
@@dave55831 In my experience if you are careful with the overspray it shouldn't be too bad, you might get some browning of the grass along the edge but it should recover

We have a garden similar to yours in that it slopes upwards, plus we are North E facing so not a lot of sun near the house in the latter part of the day. As a result we get a very soggy lawn near the bottom and our small patio near the back door floods when it rains heavily. Would you recommend doing 2 French drains - ie one halfway up the garden to prevent the soggy lawn, and one nearer the patio to stop the flooding? We are hoping to add a sleeper wall as a divide between the lawn and patio so this would be ideal time to do it. Appreciate any advice you may have. Thanks

Exactly that! It will help to reduce the flooding so much more if you have, like you said, one for the lawn and one for the patio 👍🏻
