Have you tried feeding gut loaded wax worms which are gut loaded with calcium for the birds which are eating eggs? Sometimes if the birds are eating eggs it's because they calcium deficient. A lot of people don't know it, but even seed eating birds eat bugs in the wild from time to time, and feeding gut loaded butter worms will will help them get the nutrients which they might be missing otherwise.
