Did They Get Fallout Right?! Reacting to the TV Series Trailer Like a Vault Dweller

I think the 'outdoors' looking area is the vault's atrium. I'm ok with them pulling 3 & 4 elements into a LA setting since New Vegas did that well. The biggest concern to me is "Rings of Power". If they do the Fallout universe dirty like they did LOTR, it'll be such a letdown. BTW: There's a Fallout 4 mod I like using that's an awesome followers manager but also adds a quest that lets you go back to Vault 111, revive your spouse and have them as a follower.

I'm a "New Vegas" fan more than anything else, although I enjoyed Fallout 3 and Fallout 4 well enough. Honestly? I can see some authentic Fallout love went into it, which is great... but if the show has a hook, other than "but it's FALLOUT, so you HAVE to love it" and featuring Walton Goggins heavily in the trailers, it's not grabbing me. I'm willing to give it a shot, but my expectations are zero and my hopes aren't a lot higher.

Now that you brought up Fallout3 it occurred to me that I never finished Fallout: New Vegas. I may need to head back to the wasteland soon.

Casting looks okay I suppose. But, I agree the tone is what is going to make this work or fail. If it stays wacky within a coherent story it might work.

The trailer is nice but I'm very skeptical about these things as of late. I feel like if you're going to do a series about Fallout on the west coast then there should be a lot of elements being mentioned from Fallout 1 and 2.

The first trailer put me off pretty harshly, ended up dropping amazon more because of "The Boys" but this didn't help. I'm not a Reacher guy, I like sci-fi/fantasy/superheroes but they seem too rushed and mix everything together or make stuff political. Might check back if they don't screw up Warhammer- but even if its good I'd prefer a dvd over service for one show

Love Fallout 3 and 4, hope you are enjoying both as much as I have. Actually L.A. or that general area is pretty significant in the Fallout universe. That is where Fallout 1 and 2 take place, and introduce the Brotherhood of Steel, the NCR. As for the look? To be honest, the graphics in 1 and 2 where awful. Do a Google search on images for both those games and you would see what I mean. So I get why they they took 3 and 4 to use for set, prop and costume design. I am looking forward to see the story goes with the NCR. Haven't seen them since Fallout New Vegas.

Boo, Fallout I and II were in Cali, Vaults 101-113 ranged from near Arroyo Grande down to Los Angeles... Given you are seeing NCR forces, the series looks like it's set in the West Coast

Vault numbers are lower in the west coast, higher numbers are in the east.

I am not surprised by the changes. I think like Dune they a are going to put as much of the game in this series as they can. I am not going to be surprised if the series will be disjointed and a little bit of woke.
