I've been using it for the past few months. Headset feels and looks good, sounds great, battery life is good (maybe even last longer than the arctis pro wireless - comparing new to new), hinge fault from previous arctis pro's has been addressed (they added a little rubber for more flexibility, only time will tell if the hinge still breaks). The noise cancellation seems good to me but I have never used noise cancellation on other headsets before. The ONE draw back I found so far - the ear pads need to be thicker as in the middle of the ear cup there is the noise cancellation emitter that protrudes outward and very easy rubs on your ear. I have read multiple complaints about this so be VERY aware and expect to buy some ear cups from "wicked cushions" or some other store once the baseline pads wear in and you start to feel the rubbing. Myself having the previous arctis pro's I 3D printer a plastic adapter and used the arctis pro ear pads I purchased from wicked cushions and was able to save a few dollars. I've had no issues with the rubbing since. The new sonar software is awesome, cant express that enough. The equalizer adjusts seems great to me - I am no audio-freak but out of the box I was happy with default. I did play around with the equalizer and it seemed to have a nice range of bass and treble. I've even done the firmware updates and it went very smoothly (took a little time but just have to be patient). I did a firmware update on the arctis pro's previously and basically wrecked the audio quality of the headset, take that as you will. What I like most, from the software you can easily set the headset as default device and then alternatively access your Realtek (for example) audio driver software and set your speakers back to default to just swap back and forth OR you can also use the sonar software and change the default output to your speaks from there. Lots of different ways to set it up which is awesome. Hope that helps :) Ps. I was going to give up on SteelSeries after the Arctis headset as the hinge broke on me. It was replaced under consumer laws(Australia) and they upgraded me to the Nova, which honestly surprised me. This headset & software to me seem leaps ahead of the old but if the hinge survives I have no idea. Hopefully there quality control has been upped. This is what the Arctis should have been, I'd be very happy with this headset (so far) even if it did not have the noise cancelation.

@mjbianks Жыл бұрын
@@Adi-kr5nd No worries, one other thing I've noticed over time is the head strap seems to stretch slightly, I'm now on the final notch of the adjustments. Another weird thing which isn't really a problem but I find odd... When I tilt my head to the right 90 degrees, the right ear cup seems to have a loose item inside it which makes a little noise. Not really an issue as you never tilt your head like that really, just bizarre. Overall though, sound quality along with the sonar software functionality really sets this headset miles ahead. Whatever team made that software did an amazing job.

So I have the pro wireless and here are my 3 complaints / wanted upgrades. Hope Harris does a follow up about 2 and 3 for this new headset, since they're pretty widely known at this point. 1. I don't use the mic or mute button at all, so I'd love a version that just doesn't have them. 2. The dac uses an OLED screen with UI elements always visible, so naturally those elements burned into the screen after about a year. It's not that bad, but it's annoying for a premium product to damage itself by design. 3. The battery low indicator doesn't come on until literally 5 minutes before the battery dies. This one is the closest to a real problem, as you don't always have a free minute to hotswap batteries when you need to.
@mcbrite2 жыл бұрын
1. You must be the only person that NEVER uses the mic, so no, why would they ever make a GAMING headset without mic. That makes zero sense... 2. Couldn't care less... Had burn in on my one, never cared... Once you set it up right, you never use it anyways... 3. It wasn't 5 minutes, but they could maybe lengthen it a little bit... I heard on this headset the connection won't even drop, if you swap the battery quicker than 8 seconds and that IS a huge improvement!
@Bluedemon12892 жыл бұрын
Got the headset and honestly love this thing, sound quality is great, and gets better with the software EQ settings. The mic could be better but again gets to a pretty good quality through EQ presets. The battery swapping is sick and the dual Bluetooth and 2.4ghz audio is sick. Highly recommend this if you can swing the price. Only issue is making the chat channel and game channel balances change off the deck. Works great when you change the levels in the GG software though so still works.

@@MrDogtown22 My personal experience using their 800, Arctis Pro and Nova Pro wireless headsets. Worst to Best, Arctis > 800 > Nova. I'd say microphones from all three have been similar. The 800 and Arctis both having hinge issues really wasn't great (Arctis being worse) and left a bad taste in my mouth. For GOXLR users. Keep in mind the GOXLR prefers headphone jacks that have 2 rings and not 3 rings. 2 rings on the jack is stereo and the 3rd ring is a ground for the microphone. You may or may not have a considerable difference in audio when using headphones that have built in mics that have 3 rings on the jack. Kind of depends on the level of quality you personally desire. GOXLR documentation will show that they prefer separate mic jacks with headphone jacks for headsets with mics built in. Even if you're not using the mic they will not support 3 ring jacks. Common issues are low audio quality, low audio volume, and audio significantly louder in one ear. I swapped my steel series out for audio technicas and the difference was astonishing. Hope that helps anyone that has been wondering why these headsets have great reviews but lack luster performance on GOXLRs.

Being able to use only one headset for both of my consoles was enough for me on its own, but also being able to use them as regular headphones over Bluetooth, listen to both console audio and Bluetooth audio at the same time, active noise cancelation and transparency mode...ahhh an hot swapable batteries that charge directly on the dac!!!!! This headset is shaping up to be the best headset around, period!

I'm really interested how good the mic monitoring or transparency mode on this one is .. that is like the nr. 1 thing that annoys me with my current steel series headset: The sound just being waaaaay too silent.
@AceofSpades-nd3hy Жыл бұрын
Sadly these took a step back in mic monitoring compared to the arctis pro wireless. Its my one knock on them.

If you're doing a future review of these, once you've had the opportunity to use them for a while, there are a couple things I'd love to find out about: - I noticed on my Siberia 800 (the predecessor to the headset you have) that the audio quality sounded WAY better when I had a digital audio cable plugged in, and selected that as the audio source on the transmitter box. The new headset doesn't have digital audio. Could you please compare your old headset, with digital audio, to the new Nova Pro Wireless with USB audio? - The Arctis Pro Wireless has a frequency response of 10 - 40k Hz wired or wireless, but the Nova Pro Wireless only goes up to 22k when wireless. Does it sound worse in general? - How is the clamping force on the new headset, compared to your old one? - Is the space for your ears smaller on the new one? It's always annoying when headphones sit on your ears, rather than around them. Thanks!

Tbh I love the look of the old one waaay more. The ear cups looked so nice with no interruption and now it's a weird circle over it. Sad, they were the best looking ones on the market

AFAIK you use the headset connected to your audio setup and also have direct monitoring enabled (iirc). How high is the latency on your voice? Thinking about doing something similar but not sure about the latency itself

I’d rather pay for audiophile headphones since I’ll always have a separate mic. But for those who like gaming headsets, these seem nice

I recently had to make the same choice. My Arctis Pro Wireless broke and wasn't available anywhere, and I decided to get the ath r70x instead. Now that this headset is true I'm having doubts. This exains why my headset was out of stock and I've been missing some of the unqiur features. However, I love the sound of my R70x and I'm not sure if I want to go back.

I should have mine next week. Replacing my 2016 SteelSeries 800 Siberia. The swappable batteries still hold a great charge & I have had zero problems with it until the last month when the headphones on one side will slide off of the headband & I have to wrangle it back on. Best headset I have ever had. Got them for 297.00 in 2016.

I love Steel Series. I burn them out pretty fast it seems, but I love the sound so I stick with them. I need new ones so bad and have been so overthinking which ones I want. I'm scared to go to Wireless due to the latency, but I also use a GOXLR so I don teven know how to set up the wireless. I didn't even know you could use wireless with GOLXR until this video so now i'll try it. I stream 10-12 hours a day 6 days a week listening to music the entire time and I've been looking to upgrade. Then you posted this. Perfect as always. Much love and Thanks

I have the headphone out of my GoXLR plugged into the line in on my Pro Wireless DAC and it works fine, just set the DAC to AUX, I don't have any noticeable latency.

Would have liked to see a mic test on the built-in mic. Also would like to hear about your opinions on instead of using a headphone that is "dedicated" towards gaming and instead of like an all round good headphone like the Sennheiser 6XX or 58x Jubilee or HD559, Hifiman HE400/HE400SE/HE4XX/HE5XX/HE-X4, or a Beyerdynamic DT series and pair it with something like an Antlion Mic or an Elgato Wave. With most combinations of the mics and headphones I said would come out to similar pricing to the Nova Pro Wireless. Its not really an apples to apples comparison between the 2 just bc it seems like the Nova Pro Wireless doesn't really have a competitor when it comes to raw features. I just wonder how you would perceive the difference in audio quality and mic quality between one of the headphones/mics that I mentioned vs the Nova Pro Wireless.

Hello mate. I want to get a new pair of headphones but I am worried about my 2 pc setup with a GOXLR. With these new SteelSeries Nova pro wireless headphones I am concerned about the codecs they are using for latency issues. Can you please confirm while using these headphones that the echo/double up effect is very noticeable. It would drive me nuts If I can head myself twice. I love the look and the specs of these headphones but it would be a deal breaker for me. Are they using SBC codec only ? Are they using aptX HD or aptXLL ? Thanks mate. Hope you get back to me soon as I am on the verge of buying them. Extigy (uk)

why don’t you use audiophile headphones like streamers such as ninja (beyerdynamic dt-1990) and tfue? (sennheiser hd800s) is it because wireless is that important to you? i’ve never found wireless for headphones while gaming to be an important factor

Many seem to have an issue with no headphone sound(channels/mixer are showing sound) due to sonar and drivers, one workaround is to run a windows troubleshoot for output sound and opt to uninstall driver, which makes them work for a while at least but without sonar. Way too expensive ontop of that.

Sony WH-1000XM5! The one thing that would be cool to compare is latency between the steelseries headset and XM5s in gaming scenarios. For Gaming there is a very small latency but XM5s were not made specifically for gaming. The comfort, sound, ANC, connecting to two devices simultaneously, 30 hours of battery life, etc. makes the XM5s an awesome headset.

Hey Alpha Gaming, I have a Question. Can you tell me if I really need to download the new firmware for the Steelseries Nova Pro headset or will it still work great out of the box with my PS5. I have no PC to download the firmware for the Nova Pro headset so I'm just wondering if I should still buy it.. thanks!

Thank You Harris! I have been buying headset after headset looking for something comfortable with at least some decent features without luck. After watching this vid immediately bought this Steel Series. This is the most comfortable headset I've ever worn( Big head). I wish this video would have been released a few months ago. $350 is steep but for what it offers compared to the rest, it is well worth it.

Been knocking around the idea in my new office to have a premium headset setup. Dac / Amp the whole nine. But something like this is interesting. My question is how loud do they get? With all these pushes for wireless and earbuds, nothing gets loud enough for me personally without sounding like hot garbage. So are they loud? Can you think straight while jamming?

PS5 users have desperately needed a premium option that is compatible with Tempest 3D Audio. The only real choices being the SteelSeries Arctis 7P and the Sony Pulse 3D which are at best decent to meh options. The Arctis Nova Pro being compatible with Tempest 3D Audio and having multiple inputs is huge. Also to answer your questions about XBOX Series compatibility, the XBOX requires a security chip for the headset to work. That's literally the only difference. One of the usb inputs on the transmitter is labeled XBOX and only works with the XBOX and PC. The other port is still compatible with any non-XBOX device.

Is chat mix still hardware based over USB? I'm curious how much sonar is required for these headphones, as they comment PC chat mix (Sonar) on the product page, and they comment sonar runs the mic on them. I'm wondering if like the pro wireless and h800s if they can be ran entirely on hardware.

I find it hard to upgrade my Razer Thresher Ultimate. I'VE epoxied the crap out of the headband that attaches to the headphones. I tried the wireless BlackSharks and hated them. The Audio in Apex was so bad. With my Razers I know where people are in buildings and where they are coming from. How are these in game?

I kind of have an in depth question, I have the go xlr and a arctis 7 wireless headset. I want to be able to have full control of the headset with the application and still be able to control all of my audio through my goxlr, but don't think i can do to using the 3.5mm jack going to my wireless transmitter. Is there a way around that with this headset? have you tested this headset out with the GoXLR and what kind of configuration would you recommend. Also with going straight through my goxlr to the DAC would i lose any sound quality vs using the usb to dac sound settings? I doubt you will see this but i would love some input since i've had questions on this and similar small issues but no one anywhere seems to know or be talking about it. Much appreciation always!

I got a SteelSeries headset 2 years ago and the right headphone cup recently got a random hole in it, making the earcup become super loose. Some others have had this problem as well. Has this happened to you?
