The separation time is actually good for both of baby and mom. Babies that are constantly clinging to mom develop a severe dependency that is very hard to break. Separation time helps the baby to learn to fend for itself and how to find food on its own instead of just getting handouts from mom

​@@edo1201the rat won't die from starvation in one or two hours, this one already has a mouth full of razor sharp fangs. It's doubtful it gets much milk now anyways. It's more than capable of of eating solid food. In fact at that age it can survive without ever getting anymore milk.

@@msbigdog1460No s/he won’t starve in a couple of hours, and s/he does have a mouthful of teeth. I agree with both of those statements. But the rest of what you wrote, is not accurate. There are lots of peer reviewed papers, and research on this topic. There’s the scientist, Harry Harlow’s infamous, (cruel) experiment, which is here on KZbin. The results of which, are in complete contradiction, with what you wrote at the end. Plus the Macaque to human developmental conversion ratio, is 4:1, so this little one must be about 4 weeks old? Which means, here in this video, s/he has the psychological and emotional understanding, of a 3 and a half month old human baby. As far as nursing goes, at about a month old, this one has a long way to go! Macaques should not fully wean their infants, until 10-14 months, which is comparable to human nursing. But I do agree, that some time away from mum’s chest now and again, is good for both mum, and infant. Anyway, sorry for the long reply, I do tend to waffle on. Take care and stay well.

@@msbigdog1460 Although the monkey 'may' survive without milk, it is vital he/she breastfeeds for several reasons other than just to be fed. Of course, the milk energy sends signals to the infant that programs their behavior and temperament. Infants become confident and cope more effectively, especially when they are faced with a situation such as having been kidnapped. The monkey in the video can be nursed for a while longer and it appears that its mother is a higher ranking lactating female. Much can be learned about an infant and their mother through the breast milk alone. So eh, yea, no infant or baby monkey needs to be quick in getting weaned. That's what mothers do breed and breastfeed.

Just a babysitter like an aunt ir sister etc...mom is close by where it can see her trying to make it realize it doesn't have to be clinging 24 7 because every 9 months a new one is dropped till they die...can't have this one wanting to stay sectioned on moms nipples with a new one also...they are so over breed nothing can get their numbers under control..all they do I'd eat, spread diseases and parasites and non stop breeding...costing these countries billions of dollars in damages every year..they are pests like cockroaches and rattlesnakes...they rape, molest, steal, rob, kill us snd other animals keep in mind every video is edited to let you see and think what they want you to see and think ...not the truth and reality of how they are...a 2-10 minute edited video out of a 24hr day or days....nothing is real only what they want you to see and think...good luck...

If mama felt her baby was in danger with a kidnapper, she would take her baby back. But mamas are careful who they allow to babysit, so.....

That rat will NOT die without its mom. It has a mouthful of razor sharp fangs and is entirely capable of living without milk at this point. It's completely able to eat and digest solid foods and surviving on them. So, it will not 'die' at this age just because it cannot get milk. Seriously, they can survive without mom at that age.
