@@tc2172 it’s crazy because it’s almost like the media doesn’t believe the Vikings deserve having a player of that talent. Vikings took him where others passed they were a huge part of his growth. He was a reason why McCarthy might be successful, yet here we are months later acting like the Vikings never wanted to keep the face of their franchise.

The offense will be good with or without JJ because its a good scheme. Same reason Puka did so well last year when Kupp was hurt. JJ is great but if they can get 80%+ of his production from Addison on his rookie deal then why wouldn't they try to trade him? That's a lot of money that can be spent elsewhere in the future. They desperately need help in the secondary. They could bring in a couple stars at cb/safety next year and draft another wr. I get that people get attached to star players but in a salary cap league it makes sense to trade players that take up too much cap space outside of qb.

Jefferson will get his extension before training camp starts, the main thing that's been holding up negotiations is the amount of guarantees. But the Vikings probably already have the deal drawn up and ready for Jefferson to sign just before camp starts up.

If the Giants actually were going to make a trade for just in the office and then that GM needs to be fired ASAP. First of all how are the Giants going to pay Jefferson what he wants? And then also this: what good is having the ultimate weapon when you have a bad offense of line? Last years Giants line was historically bad with regards to giving up sacs. There is no clear evidence that the Giants horrible offensive line has been fixed. Evan Neal is still a part of that offensive line. Even drafting Mallik neighbors may not be as great as everyone thinks it is if the offense of line is not able to protect the quarterback, whomever that may be Jones, Lock, Joe Montana, Eli manning, etc.

Why would Minnesota (or any team) disclose to a team they are trading with who they intend to draft? The compensation for some of these draft picks doesn't seem to constitute giving out that info. Maybe they would say, "We don't want so-and-so.". But they would NEVER give up their strategy on who they are picking at that spot "just in case" u wanna trade. I don't believe this kinda hogwash a month+ after the draft.

Mike. Sorry, for you upcoming future loss. When one position gets too much pay as a percenatge of the salary cap; teams adjust down in two ways. One, they refuse to overpay when you have a cheaper alternative. Two, the position must be advanced enough that entering college players can play the position effectively, immediately. This has happen to the Wide receiver position. Running back was the previous position. It also helps to see other clubs having success doing this strategy. Clubs who are successful doing this now. Chiefs, Packers, Texans and this draft, Chargers. Minnesota / other team, will make the Jefferson deal and Minnesota will trade him immediately for a boat load of draft picks and. perhaps, a WR 2 or 3. Welcome to the club.

They have no QB to pay and had 7 wins, who are they paying, they may have some dead cap, but I doubt it is worse than anyone in the top half of the league, if they see themselves top half. Even if they make an injury mistake, someone will take his salary the next 5 years so without paying a QB the dead cap will not hurt. Unlike Dallas they are not paying a QB, and if they are in Dallas's situation cap wise you should have more than 7 wins, they let their top defender walk, Hockenson did not play every game and I would not pay him top 3 TE money, and that is it on guys they had to sign.

For ever Jefferson in the draft, there are a bunch of Jalen Reagors. Vikings got a huge break by getting JJ and teams discounting him, and now hes arguably the best in the NFL. I think if you are thinking of the future and that your super bowl window is once Mccarthy takes the field in likely a year, JJ is a guy you want to have on your team, given mccarthy still wont be getting a market rate contract for 3-4 years.
