I definitely understand wanting to shift to being able to focus more if you think it's needed to reach your goal. I will say though I hope you don't feel there's anything wrong with your commentary showing a bit of emotion, it's honestly relatable and entertaining as is. Entertaining with no negative connotation at all, pugs are always a mixed bag! Really liking the series.

At the end of the day it's about having fun. I'm not having fun commentating, it just overwhelms me and prevents me from healing through some things that I could carry even with my limited proficiency with the spec. I'll try my best to make the voice-overed videos still fun (:

Preservation is hard enough in itself, playing it in lower level keys was soul destroying especially with range dps which appear to be allergic to lizards. Playing in a coordinated group with pres is a blast though, I hope the rest of the climb to 2k isn't too bad Vlad!
@Definitely_Not_Vlad8 күн бұрын
I can absolutely confirm the coordinate group thing. Played keys with friends last night and we absolutely stomped everything. I was better at every single aspect of gameplay. Kicks, stops, CDs, defensives, DPS, HPS, everything.

It's unfortunate though. I have thoroughly enjoyed the series. My only grip from ALL zero-to-hero videos over the years is that nearly all of them are done by people who are already very good and know so much about the game. This has shown more about what it's like to struggle to get to a goal. I started a pres evoker as well. I like the game play but it's extremely hard to execute (for me anyway) in a run. I've done a few keys so far as I'm still trying to get the muscle memory of combos. Good luck though and thanks for the videos.

My guy you make it sound like I'm dying. The series isn't going anywhere, I'm just not going to live commentate it, instead I'm going to do a voice over and share my thoughts more clearly. Give the next episode later today a shot and see if you still like it (:

I wonder how many pug healers are watching these videos and feeling very seen. The frustration of repeatedly pinging the correct Mistcaller clone and not being able to do anything about it is so relatable. I can't blame you for changing up the series if you're not having fun, but I do think there's some value to having this evidence of why it can be so hard to find a healer these days.
@Definitely_Not_Vlad8 күн бұрын
I think I've left enough evidence between this run and the Grim Batol, greener pastures await! I did some runs last night with some premade peeps and every single aspect of my gameplay improved. Defensive usage, CD usage, peak HPS, positioning, DPS. Literally everything was better when people didn't stand in every bit of avoidable damage and actually played the tactics out correctly.

As someone who has pugged 99.9% of their keys this season (currently 2740 io) as a healer, i salute you for the attempt. I feel like Pres being so combo oriented and limited by positioning made this part of your series complicated to do. It probably would have been easier on something like a HPriest,a healeri feel is more straightforward (which is what i personally voted for every time). But maybe that's just my personal bias. I enjoyed the videos, though! Hope you enjoy you ass rogue more.

Last night I ran keys with friends and sweet baby Jesus was it more fun to play Preservation. I hit 1 mill HPS multiple times, I think one time I almost hit 1.5 million HPS. I know HPS doesn't matter, but being able to crank it when it matters to top the group felt amazing and really fun. I think I can have some good runs and show off some good gameplay if I just get at least most of my team members to do the tactics correctly!

I think that we (you, me + discord people) have all been spoiled by having a full premade to run keys with and sometimes forget how wild the PUG world is (especially this season). These videos with your prevoker have shows some of the most interesting, downright sad and depressing, and random players since the start of this series. I don't have words at this point to describe how anxiety inducing it was to watch through this video and realize that these are actual players with a keyboard and a mouse. Maybe they're missing a monitor. Who knows. Anyhoo...The salt buildup was getting rather crusty by the end of the video :D

I'm pretty sure I was reaching kidney failure by the end of it, but luckily it stopped short by us finally taking down the giant worm thing I agree that this series has shown us some truly wild PUG situations, for sure. You're only using your standard heals and not really employing your CD's. You're not using Verdant Embrace enough. Verdant embrace will top off one person from nearly dead to full and two if you have echo up. Send it on CD. You don't use Time Spiral, Emerald Communion, Obsidian Scales, Stasis and Zephyr at all in this entire key. These would have prevented many of the deaths. For second boss, definitely lust if you have more than 12 min left in the key. You'll get it again. For guessing game use Zephyr, Rewind and Communion/Stasis for the three and its GG. Communion locks your position, so use it first if you're certain you don't have the fox on you. While yes your team was braindead, you absolutely could have carried them if you just assume they're going to make every mistake possible and prepare for that with your big CDs.
@Definitely_Not_Vlad8 күн бұрын
I agree, I maybe could have carried if I played at the level that you described. If I was playing a Mistweaver with everything else being equal, I would have almost certainly carried this key with raw healing throughput for all the mistakes, but I'm not playing my comfort Healer. I'm playing something I've done (at the time of recording) 7 or 8 lowbie keys with and I am also live commentating, which definitely takes its toll. I've openly stated in the video that the class is not clicking with me and that I'm having issues utilizing it's toolkit while commentating. I don't think I should have to carry that hard in a +4. It's just unreasonable. I think it's more reasonable to expect that the group doing +4 keys understands what the mechanics of the dungeon are. Could I have carried? Maybe. Is it pointless to say "If you played much better than you reasonably could have, you would have carried"? I'll let you decide.
@craig46268 күн бұрын
@@Definitely_Not_Vlad It'd be pointless if that's what I said. I didn't say play much better, I said use your CDs. Or just keep blaming your team, whatever helps you sleep at night.

@Definitely_Not_Vlad9 күн бұрын
Absolutely fair statement, I have the same issue on my other healers of not pressing defensives because I get so caught up in filling health bars
@Cuplathings9 күн бұрын
@@Definitely_Not_Vlad Gotta hop on here and say that using defensives as a healer IS important but it's also easier to heal yourself than others when they don't use defensives and are directed by single target dmg. You have the option of not using a defensive knowing that you'll be able to heal yourself full when need be, but dps players and tank kinda should just learn to press their defs on every dmg event and not just rely on their healer to spam heals to them.

@@Definitely_Not_Vlad it helped a ton on my resto shaman when i started automatically pressing defensives before big damage comes in, like on CoT, you know dark pulse is gonna be huge damage so it's extremely helpful to pop a defensive to not have to worry about yourself and focus on everyone else. better to use them and not need them than need it and not use it haha

Don't feel too bad about it. Evoker at low levels is absolutely miserable, cause unlike other healers you cannot burn mana to compensate for stupid teammates by pumping HPS. I main Pres and I have less bricked 8+ keys than 8- . And it still wasn't that bad, at least your tank was using mitigation. Glad more people are experiencing how miserable healing is this xpac. One thing worth doing is ignoring statweights. You want haste, at least 15%, because it allows you to pump heals by burning mana to save your headless chickens(teammates) Statweights don't value haste because they assume you play with humans who can play the game, which does not apply to most of your teammates.

That Tank never timed a defensive in his life. Why pick meta class and only do core rotation. As a dps/tank pala main this guy hurts my soul. His gift must have had a higher uptime then any defensive of his combined. And the defensives he pressed looked like he just pressed them on accident. Like on the matriarch mini-boss. His Ardent Defender gets pressed with no incomming damage and runs out right before shred armor. Absolute clown.
