I am so glad that you're looking at it from Ha Do Yeong's point of view. Cause if you think about, if he leaves his wife now, he'll be doing exactly with Jae-Jun wants. Also, i feel so bad for Ye-Sol knowing there's something wrong with her eyes and not able to know what it is. Her mother keeps hiding it and she's not allowed to tell her father about it, I'd be frustrated too

This is just a funfact but there was a video of korean optometrists discussing the colorblindness in the glory and apparently, realistically the daughter wouldn’t be colorblind. colorblindness is indeed genetic but jaejun would most-likely pass it to his son*, not a daughter UNLESS yeonjin’s father was colorblind as well and she was a carrier. *colorblindess comes from an invalid x chromosome and since males have only one x chromosome, it’s much more common for men to be colorblind. for women to be colorblind, both of their chromosomes need to be invalid, which means BOTH parents have to be either colorblind or carry one invalid x chromosome.

Wait wut no wdym Jaejun would pass it to his son? Jaejun can only pass his y chromosome if they had a son- if jaejun had a son who is colorblind the invalid x chromosome is from the mother

Kim Eun-sook, the writer of this script, is a very famous writer in Korea. If you explore K-dramas further, you will encounter more of her awesome works. Reading her scripts in the original Korean is much more moving. They are filled with extremely well-crafted literary expressions. There is a perfect blend of witty lines and well-placed metaphors and similes. I'm glad you appreciated it!

Love your energy, here's the thing 9-16 was released in one day. The majority of people did watch it in one go. Episode 12 is one of my favorite of the whole series. Episode11 lends to the brilliance of Dong-Eun's plans, eighteen years is nothing to joke about when it comes to getting revenge on this gang of psychopaths.

From my pov, do yeong did not want to lose his daughter (since the custody will most likely go to yeonjin). Besides, their relationship was beyond repair and the way he treats her became a torture for yeonjin hfjdhfhs

Hihi glad you're enjoying the show, don't forget to recharge after every episode it's very energy-consuming 😂 also yes the script is beautiful. The line that made me want to watch this drama was when Dong Eun said to Sa Ra "i hope you go to heaven when you die because your days here are going to be hell" (bcs I know it's a drama about revenge so this line gave me goosebumps)

I had a really hard time understanding Do Yeong when watching this, if all he cared about was protecting Ye Sol surely distancing her from her psychotic mother is the best move? However, the writer's interview makes a lot of sense. She says that Do Yeong doesn't leave because of Dong Eun. He knows that she approached him because of his connection to Yeon Jin, so divorcing her would mean Dong Eun no longer has a reason to talk to him (explains why he says they should meet again immediately after telling her he wouldn't leave Yeon Jin) He cares a lot more about Dong Eun than you might think on first watch.

Episode 12 is the craziest!!! From start to finish! Every move that Dong Eun placed will explode! Your predictions are again not quite close.. When her husband told Dong Eun that he will not leave Yeon Jin, I think you miss the point... But his last word saying that "let's meet again" gave it away....

To be fair I don't think Doyeong was emotionally cheating on Yeonjin for everything he did while he was following around Dongeun. The way I see it, it's always been the curiosity and hunger after finding a player who can match and even surpass his own skill. Imagine being the best player in your town and someone showing up to beat you and you can't reclaim your title. I feel the sexual tension was surmised by the viewers because we were overly contextualizing their interactions, because any sexual tension was never implied. After being given clues about what his wife has been doing, we see a shift in his priorities. At first it was the Go matches, after seeing the scars, he came to Dong-eun to know more about Yeonjin's doings, even when he filed for divorce, his entire intention was just to protect his daughter. He's never actually pursued anything else from Dong-eun.

I think when it comes to Ha Do Being I think its two parts I think its one part him knowing if he leaves the wife he may lose rights to the daughter causing Jae Jun to win. The other part being if he leaves he may no longer see Dong eun anymore cause he will no longer be apart of her plan there for there game of "go" will be over.

heyy!! since i think you like this genre of kdrama, i recommend watching The Penthouse it has 3 seasons with 20 episodes each if i remember correctly, heads up, its much more intense than this so yeah

Would you be down to watch/react to a ‘’historical’’ k drama called *Mr Queen* I think it’s a gem, That more people should watch. I think it’s comedy romance and drama very well mixed in/written. I think the husband doesn't like taking action without having his plan and options figured out. At this point he's being honest because he likes Dong Un. He's saying he just figured out that he won't leave his wife and that he doesn't know... probably because he's thinking of his exit strategy and if Yeon Jin has any chance of redeeming herself enough to have a public but emotionless marriage (for their kids sake).

I feel like one of the main reasons he told Dongeun he wont leave Yeonjin is because he is too fascinated by her (Dongeun). As soon as he leaves her he will be of no more use to her plans, but he still wants to learn more. That and his daughter.

I highly recommend in the future watching & reacting to 'The Devil Judge'. Not many reactions to it on KZbin but it's one of the best TV shows I've seen let alone best kdrama.

I actually came to love the husband a lot, he is def a complex one that one may not get a clear reading on right away, but after two watches, I really do like his character a lot. only after the second time did I realize why he might be trying to hold it out because I was the same in why tf would he stay after all this like that, but once I watched it a second time all the way through, I realized it's def for his daughter. I mean he says this multiple times, but I still couldn't really figure out why he would still stay like there had to be something he could do, but then I remembered what baby daddy knows. remember the lawyer tells him that the only way he could have a chance at getting his baby is if they divorce, and since husband isn't the blood father, it seems chances could be muddied of him having custody of his daughter from baby daddy if he just up and divorced too quickly. like this man is hella smart and calculated, so much so it wasn't as clear to me the first time around why he was staying like this, but it occurred to me the second run-through that he likely knows what baby daddy knows about the legality of keeping his child, even if he was not yet 100% certain of it yet, he through and through seems like the kind of guy who would wait and hold out to make sure before making a rash move when he is slowly learning the chances of his wife cheating on him grow more and more at every ep. although he never speaks these things out loud, I believe he suspected stuff long ago and he was sticking it out to get all the proper details to make sure he did not lose his daughter. he's playing the long game and he is staying calm and doing it for his daughter and I love his character so much for it. from a watcher's pov I can appreciate that his intentions and thoughts aren't made blatantly clear and spoon-fed to us, we have to observe and pay attention and really respect the character they are portraying for things to click in place all while he isn't the antagonist. he's a really cool character IMO because he isn't a bad guy, he isn't necessarily on our side either, he is purely on his daughter's side and he also has the morals to do what is right (sortove) as well instead of fully disregarding everyone else. like to me, IMO, he is a proper smart character, not just someone who others in the show keep touting him as the smart one, he actually proves through his actions how insanely smart and patient his character is and to me does it beautifully.

There was a theory: the husband said he won’t leave the witch, following up by him saying we should meet again. People were saying there wasn’t a plan but also that he knew he wouldn’t see her again if he did leave.
