Some years ago, part of my job was dealing with chemical or oil spill pollution along the coastline. There happened to be a large oil spill in our area. The oil company commandeered me to help them because of my skills and knowledge of the area. They needed specialist equipment along the coast. Unfortunately, normal vehicles couldn't cope with the difficult terrain. The oil company issued me with a Yamaha 6 wheel drive ATV with a trailer to get the equipment to the needed places. That vehicle was amazing. Nothing seemed too much for it to cope with. I not only carried equipment on it but six personnel on the vehicle and trailer. I have never seen one of those vehicles since. Great ATV i loved every minute working with is.

Working in the ag industry scouting seed corn fields for years, we found it wasn’t the motor that got you thru it was the lack of weight and good tires. Those old Polaris and 300 Honda were super light and with good tires you could make fools of those guys with the 650cc and larger. We didn’t even run winches on those light rigs, we didn’t need them.

What about leaning forward and weighting the front rather then leaning back and using 70% rear for grip with a angled approach with the front end staying up not grabbing as much. Seems the 6x6 stays level and really makes use of all the tires sharing the load and applying grip equally
