Malaysia is such an incredible country, many beautiful places 😍. You're 💯 right. We usually always check! For some reason, we didn't for this trip. The website made it look like a premium resort, and the price was on the expensive side, so we just trusted the process aha. 🙃

Many lesser resorts are not generally not well maintained or upgraded!! Best to check before hand!!

Frankly, even normal hotels have bed bugs. I worked in a hotel. Must change to new pillows or mattresses.

We never came across these many comments about bed bugs when booking accommodations before, so it got us worried :)

Pity that the place is run down as the scenery is spectacular. Maybe the island hasn’t recovered from the effect of Covid?

Yes, exactly what we thought :) Probably the after covid, yes, the end of the season, etc. Some places struggle more than others, unfortunately. Hopefully, it will bounce back in the future

Omg, RM2171 for two nights, you got ripped off i think. The accommodation and food are so expensive.

Very expensive, yes. We wanted to 'treat ourselves' to a premium resort when we booked it. For the food, it was the only option we had as there were no cafes or restaurants on the island. :)
