Amazing to see this story. I think back to Sanctum a lot because it was the game that content creators played (yogscast) and they were super influential into me getting into pc gaming. Really changed the directory of what I liked in games and all of media in general. Really funny to me that I ended up loving Satisfactory years later without realizing it was the same studio. Worlds a quaint place

Jace: * teaches us how to pronounce 'ö' at 11:17 * Me, a Hungarian: Look at what they need to mimic a fraction of our power! (For context, aside from the non-accented vowels, we have á, é, í, ó, ö, ő, ú, ü and ű in our alphabet, and used to have ë as well but only in pronunciation. We also have double and even triple consonants like 'cs', 'dz', 'dzs', 'gy', 'ny', 'sz', 'ty' or 'zs' that have to be pronounced differently from the single ones, plus use 'ly' instead of 'j' in a lot of cases out of tradition.)

TL;DR: Jace needs a raise and it would be cool if he made more videos for Coffee Stain as a whole. I kinda get why coffee stain is the way that it is, but I do think that there should be some sort of unifying name for the company as a whole instead of coffee stain holdings. And Jace should be the face of it. Honestly his work as a community manager for satisfactory is a breath of fresh air in the gaming industry. He really *gets* people and gamers. Like I always wondered about this but I never really asked too many questions, and he makes a whole video explaining all of it. Making videos like this really shows how much you guys care about the games you make AND the people you make them for. I kinda feel proud being a fan and support you guys anyway I can because of this.

Gotta say, this was actually insightful. It's always nice to be able to get a look at the inner workings of a corporate structure, especially when the publishing side and creative side use the same logo with zero distinction at all. That's basically the only thing I'd suggest changing, making Coffee Stain Publishing distinct from Coffee Stain Studios in the splash logos

You know, I wouldn't be surprised if some basic code wasn't shared between some of these games, either intentionally or by coincidence. I've played Valheim, Satisfactory, and Deep Rock Galactic, and have observed several elements that feel similar between them. For example, placing pipelines in the On-Site Refining missions in Deep Rock Galactic feels very similar to how conveyor belts are placed in Satisfactory. The building in Valheim also feels similar to building in Satisfactory, but that's a little less notable as quite a few games use the "pieces snapping to various grids" method of building like Rust or Ark.

Thanks for clearing this up! However, that makes me wonder: did Ghost Ship collaborate with Coffee Stain Studios in any way on updating DRG. Because when I look at some of their videos of how they changed game process (especially UI/UX feel and "oomph" effect), I feel them leaning into Satisfactory team experience.
