There's a hidden moment of emotion between Harry and his Aunt Petunia. When Aunt Marge was insulting Harry's parents and ranting about how James was a no-good man and Lily was too good for him, Aunt Petunia politely laughed along. But when she started on Lily, Petunia stopped smiling. This subtle moment shows that although Petunia resented her sister, she still missed her. This is further confirmed in a deleted scene from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, when Petunia tells Harry, "You didn't just lose a mother that night in Godric's Hollow, you know. I lost a sister.". This line adds depth to Petunia's character, who is otherwise portrayed as cold and bitter towards Harry.
