It's interesting how different cats have different techniques depending on their size, that of their prey, and the risk level, etc. I read that jaguars will sometimes pierce the skull, or insert their canines to separate vertebrae and sever the spinal cord. I think suffocation by throat constriction is one of the more common methods among many big cats, while "kiss" suffocation is sometimes used. Seems a grim subject, but only to us humans. Nature is a rough town.

Lion Whisperer, Kevin, wow they are beautiful! I remember at the San Diego Zoo, back in early 70s, we were told that cheetah were always liked by royalty because they are so easily tamed. Even captured a bit older than is usually needed for a wild animal. I've never learned different. I wonder how long they'll stay together. I've also heard, more recently that they have a low gene pool and suffer from inbreeding. But TV shows are notorious for getting science wrong. These guys sure don't look it. It will be scary to leave them unprotected. Yet, I doubt if they'd stayed with their mothers, all 8 would have survived. You've given them a huge head start over their wild kin. More time and nutrition has them prime! Thankyou for the beautiful update, even in the heat, lol. 👍💖🐆💙🥰✌🐆

I can’t believe how much they’ve grown since the last video. Last time they still looked like wooly cubs, adolescent cubs but still cubs. Now they look like adult cheetahs. Still young but that wooly scruff is gone. Now they look like the long, lanky, majestic beasts they were born to become. So great to hear their progress in becoming more and more self sufficient. I hope they can be returned to the wild so they can live the life they were born for

Man, it felt like yesterday when those little potatoes were brought into the sanctuary, after their mothers tragically died. If it weren't for you guys, their lives would have been forfeit. since the cheetahs are supposed to get back to live on their own in the wild again, Kevin keeps his distance. it is most visible in the cheetahs not greeting him like any of the other cats (or hyenas), running towards him, rubbing their heads at him and checking his scent or making sure he has the proper scent. good job. it probably would have been so tempting to befriend them.

How long will they be in "soft release" (where you stock the area with prey animals)? 2. Will they ultimately be released within a sanctuary/protected area? 3. They look so content and healthy! I'm curious how you will prepare them for the dangers in the world, specifically lions and hyenas wanting to steal their kills and even kill them. I can't imagine how frightening that would be for them, since they have always been the apex predators in their little world. If it were me, I probably would never feel confident about releasing them back into the wild. But I trust you, Kevin, to do everything possible to achieve that end.

This was the best update to hear! This totally made my morning how these miracles were doing! Truly such an inspiration, how much you have helped these cheetahs come so far from babies to almost fully grown adults. I think I am going to get so emotional when you let them go, that's going to be such a sad day, but I'm glad they are not going yet.
