The thing I love about @Jo Malone London is how the colognes were designed to be worn alone or layered with another as a personalised Scent Pairing. They were the first mainstream brand to open up the minds of scent layering in a commercial way. I used to work across from this counter and I would mix and match these all day. Once iconic and still iconic after selling her business to mega beauty conglomerate @The Estée Lauder Companies. Do you have a favorite Jo Malone scent pairing?

If you want to support the real Jo Malone- she still makes perfumes under the name “Jo Loves”. If you’re looking for something really affordable, she does fragrance collections with Zara every year. I used to work in beauty & fragrance and have more to say here. Jo Malone sold her company to Estée Lauder only because she developed anosmia after cancer treatment and thought it was permanent, and wouldn’t be able to make perfume anymore. This luckily turned out not to be true as she got her sense of smell back, but she had to wait years to start her own line due to a non-competing clause that was a condition of the sale, plus she lost the rights to start a line using her own full given name. The higher-ups at Jo Malone London has made some major missteps, including a recent racist event with John Boyega, not to mention that their Executive Director of North America Education is an incredibly elitist person who likes to gatekeep fragrances and throws around incredibly inappropriate fat shaming comments and “tips”. In short, support Jo Malone by buying Jo Loves. Jo Malone London doesn’t need your money.

WOW. Thanks for sharing. I didn’t know any of that. I was made disabled by a medical mistake & then almost killed by the doctor who was going to fix it, but only left unable to walk without assistance or take care of myself at all. His concern for my health ended abruptly once there were no more expensive procedures he could bill for & wouldn’t even see me again or return a call. While I can walk on my own for short distances & do some things, my life has been destroyed so I completely understand the pain of your body failing you & being a victim of other people’s greed. Please recommend some great fragrances to try. I like sweet gourmands the most, love vanilla, but I want it with a twist of something. I like flowers as long as they’re soft & have a hint of non-floral contrast. I really loved a body spray years ago from Bath & Bodyworks called “Rice Flower & Shea”. It’s the one scent I’ve loved that doesn’t fit the above categories. If I’m remembering correctly from looking it up on Fragrantica, it was classified as a green something type of scent.

Wood Sage and Sea Salt is the best! I used to always smell it on a friend who smelled wonderful and they said they could never smell it on themselves so be careful, perfumes have more sillage than you would detect

Firstly I love your content and the way you explain everything makes me want to try something different I don’t normally like watching influencers when they test fragrance’s. I find them a bit annoying because they don’t always explain them properly but I love the way you explain everything and that makes me more interested and more likely to test something that you have explained.

Lol My gran loved perfume so I fell in love with her collection, perfumes from the 70s and 80s. Start by going to smell perfumes in the stores and shops. Sephora and Ulta have many bottles to smell. Also smell candles,body products, anything scented will help you begin to notice specific scent notes, I smell every thing in stores lol If you really love a scent then buy the smallest bottle, usually a half ounce or ounce, and wear it every day! Notice how it makes you feel when you smell it at the beggining and at the end of the day, does it still make you smile? Do people notice how you smell, do they compliment you?? Dont rush out and buy a new scent right away, wait a few weeks or a month to enjoy the one you have and then buy another new, small bottle to wear and test out. Some scents may smell strong and slowly fade, some fade faster than others and some scents are strong all day! Its called sillage. Spray the perfume on your skin and clothes and see if you notice a diffrence. Scents can smell different on skin compared to fabrics. Some scents you may want to only wear on your skin bcuz thats when they smell best and vice versa. I reccomend buying small bottles at first bcuz they tend to be less expensive and if you really love the scent then invest in the large bottles. I also suggest you buy some books on perfumery or check your library. Learning about the process of creating is very interesting and informative. Dior uses 1 specific type of rose, grown on 1 family farm in france and the petals are hand picked mid morning after the dew has dried!! Just for that specific rose scent! Amazing! Hope this helps!!

I know the question was for them, but I have a small bottle of Saint, and I think it smells just like Ed Hardy Women’s EDT. They’re incredibly similar, and Ed Hardy EDT can be found at any Marshall’s.
