To anyone that freaks out about this. The cream/gel they applying is to keep the eyes from drying out during a longer operation where the animal is under narcotics. Since they can't blink at that stadium the eyes could become dry and get damaged. So this cream helps keep the eyes moist by building a protecting layer over the eyes. Yes the eye looked different, that's mostly a normal reaction to the cream. Edit: No I'm not a vet. I had an internship at a vet with clinic for two months and this was something that's done at nearly a daily basic. I stopped the internship after being with people the first time an animal was put down due to its illness. Seeing the pain of the owners and how they cried made me realise I can't do this job, as much as I love helping animals.

The eye color change is the reflective layer behind the retina. As light passes thru the jell it turns to a weird green gold hue and because its so close to the lens, the light comes out at a steep angle in a flood pattern to the camera instead of straight back out and parallel like a laser as normal light from distant objects. Nothing weird, just quantum physics at the very end of the day.

I’m not a vet, but with the experience I do have with having six cats: Kitty is not dead, is under the kitty equivalent to anesthesia When kitty is under anesthesia, which again it is, it cannot blink. Not blinking for so long would lead to blindness from eyes drying out This cream does not hurt kitty, but hydrates it’s eyes so it won’t go blind Please note how human uses the cat’s eyelids to mimic blinking and isn’t just leaving it or using their fingers Edit: dad, they like me! Its for a surgery. They have to apply the cream because when surgery happens they apply anesthesia, and when cats are introduced to anesthesia, they’re in that state where they’re still and dont blink. This doesnt harm the cat. The cream is to keep the cat’s eyes moist

I thank Terramycin for helping my guinea pig's eye. He got hay poke, and the vets were booked for two weeks at the earliest. Terramycin was thankfully OTC though, and his eye had healed by the time I got him into the vet. (I would have pushed to get him in if he has started losing weight or showing emergency symptoms though.)

Edit, info is for concerned people.Terramycin is for in the eye. It helps with a variety of issues. I had to keep a tube on hand when I raised angora rabbits incase their wool irritated their eyes and it would remoisturized the eye and knock our irritation or infection like nothing. Was recommended by multiple people and a vet to to use it. Stuff is really effective, and one of the most useful medicines I've used. 💜 Hope everything went well
