2 years ago I planned a birthday trip for last year.. Everybody was going until it was time to go. Nobody showed up at the airport so I went out of the country by myself. Everybody was shocked calling me talking about “I didn’t think you would go alone”. It changed the way I think.. My people will always be invited but they will never be waited on. I’m not missing anything waiting on anyone nor am I not going to enjoy myself if it’s only me.

I once threw a going away party when I was moving to UC Davis for college and NOBODY came or told me they couldn’t make it except one friend who showed up hours later. I felt so sad, angry, and unloved. It was a very big deal for me and I lost many friendships after that. I also adjusted my expectations after that. I mentally prepare myself for birthdays now and don’t have super high expectations!

I fly myself out for my birthdays. Last one was Vegas with my cousin & I had an unforgettable trip. 48 hours of celebrating myself with one relative and tons of strangers. The strangers treat you so well when you tell them it’s your birthday lol. Go somewhere new & take it in. I just felt so accomplished & nothing else mattered while I was away. Claudia I can understand your feelings. My birthday is in January and my brother's is in April. My mother always gave him a birthday party and I never had a party. Barely anything was ever said to me on my birthday. As a child I ignored it and looked forward to having fun at my brother's party. As a teen I chalked it up to my birthday was too close to Christmas for her to throw a party. I did not make a big deal. I worked part time and made sure I celebrated with friends. Now I always celebrate me!

Unpopular opinion: the show is better to watch when Funky is fun and happy and in a good mood. I hate when he has an attitude or when he is in one of his mood swings or not feeling the best because his delivery is bad and it’s harsh and sometimes uncomfortable to watch. I’ve watched funky dineva since he did interviews at château Sheree when it was just a plot of land and his style of commentary always had a shock value with a side comedic relief . However watching him do some of these shows (not all) has been unpleasant when you can tell he isn’t in a good mood or being super serious. Al is always positive and Claudia as well and you can never tell if they don’t want to be there or if they are having a bad day. But you can tell when Q is in a mood as it bleeds through his commentary and his facial expressions. When he is being funny and throwing shade it makes the show so much more enjoyable and all I want as a long time fan of his is for him to stick to that script because that’s what made me a fan in the first place. We all are human and we sometimes have good days and bad days and nobody is perfect however when you in the entertainment space you have to “entertain “ and that encompasses making people feel good and wanting to enjoy your content .

Maybe having a session with a therapist prior to the show each day will help during seasonal depression time because it’s been difficult to watch the show with the outbursts and tantrums. I’m with Claudia regarding the Majors and Goode portion of the show. We don’t know the ins and outs of the relationship and it’s workings to state that she should leave or stay with him. Funky, I am the same when it comes to communication. I am very sensitive with people close to me, and I feel when things are off. I don’t like people being angry with me but silent. I literally cannot cope, and I have been actively finding new ways to cope with myself if a loved one needs time to calm down, process, whatever. Deflection…that is a hard one. I have no tolerance for that and I can’t help but call it out swiftly and directly. I try to avoid argue-texting…that shit is EVIDENCE, dummies! 😂 But I am not ashamed to say at my age that I am a work in progress 🙋🏾‍♀️
