@@MermaidMysti Unfortunately it’s something us girls learn from a young age. I had a good childhood but it was very obvious just observing the difference. I remember my grandmother would call out my aunts boyfriend but when her son did worse she always made excuses and never liked to hear a bad word about him (he was still good hearted he was a good uncle to me when I was younger) and my dad too was never there. Maybe a whole decade. I never seen him most of my life. Yet never called him out and didn’t even see her for years and was still a favourite lol. (Even my aunt said that a few months ago she brought up him being the favourite out all her siblings and said that’s why me and my sister were her favourites too) which was awkward lol. But the double standards. My aunts ex was there financially and he worked and was there all the time (because I remember going to my cousins house and he was always there helping out) even the friends I had. Mothers would definitely defend their sons more. Maybe because they got up to more trouble I don’t know but it was always a different level of favouritism. Sorry for all that 😂 it just reminded me of some things I haven’t thought about in forever
