I'm a. 6th generation white australian. I've been learning the didgeridoo as a way to both finally learn and instrument but also to have a deeper connection to the indigenous community and history of the land.

I'm from the USA and I'm learning how to play this. This is my favorite instrument in all the world. It's an instrument from arguably the oldest civilization in existence, according to scientists. When I play or hear it, my hair always stands on end. I feel it's because it's a positive vibration. Just like the Gyuto monks' chants from Tibet.

They weren’t just hidden, they were massacred in genocide by the hundreds of thousands by the British crown. Many were incarcerated and taken away from their parents and forced to live in catholic institutions, forced to forget their ancestry and their rites, their memories, many were abused and treated worse than animals.

@SuperMonibuvy3 ай бұрын
Whats really cool is that the variety of tones comes from the interplay of two resonances. The vibration of the lips creates the first inside the tube, then singing a note creates the second resonance in your chest cavity. Those two combine through wave interference to create a beat freqeuency, which is where volume oscilates up and down at a frequency relative to the difference between the two resonances. The coolest part is that as a player you can literally feel the wave interference through your body as you shape the sound. Extremely fun instrument

It is performance removed from cultural context for pseudo-cultural modern audience. Performer wears a costume to lend appearance of authenticity to performance but it is a stage act.
