KATHMANDU, NEPAL: We made our way to the famous Kathmandu Monkey Temple (Swayambhunath). We make our way through the streets of Thamel and before climbing the stairs upto the temple on the hill, we eat the most delicious meal at local restaurant. If all vegan food was as good as that, I could easily get into it more! The temple itself was incredible, but on the way, we found one of the biggest problems facing Kathmandu. Once we seen it, it was hard to not notice it!

i am a local from kathmandu back in the days kathmandu was pure beauty we even used to go for a swim in those rivers we can clealy see snow capped mountains around the valley but these days due to over population and pollution people from other parts of nepal and from india have migrated in Kathmandu due to which now it has turned into a concrete jungle , there is a big amount of penalty and strict rules to keep those river clean but people from nearby slums and beggers from india living in a tent around those rivers are throwing their waste everyday even though we go there and tell them not to do that they will do it again and again at nighttime hopefully our new mayor who is serious on this issue will takecare of these things in coming days

I would have loved to have seen it in the past when those things were possible. It's an exciting place for a foreigner, but I absolutely could not imagine living here. There must be some things which are very difficult to be okay with, i.e. the pollution and waste. I've seen more rats here than I have ever anywhere else. Just walking down the street sometimes can be quite hard on the lungs with all the dust and fumes from pollution so I daren't imagine what toll it takes on your health living here. I hope to be back one day in the future and see real changes because it has so much potential. The street characters are also a real nuisance. I can't walk about without being asked if I want to buy drugs, if I want to go see some guys art school or if I want to go look at the 'festival', which turns out to just be a way to ask for money. It's exhausting however, we're going to India next, so will for sure seem like a paradise 😂

Did you come to enjoy or for comments , I think all country have thoese good and bad ... You just enjoy not everything has its positive side only .... you should challange to grab positive from negative and that's representive the the person who you are..that's the quality you need to creat on ourself.... welcome to Nepal ...

Did you not see that we had a great experience this day, but merely highlighted things that we felt were wrong. You think things will ever change if people don’t use their voice and speak about them? Scroll through my channel, you’ll see that I had a great time in Nepal and spent a lot of time and money exploring and promoting your country. It’s not about enjoying comments; it’s about showing my real experience.

Wayne, I agree that it’s polluted - it’s coz there are millions of people who have migrated .. !! And, I do agree that the tap water is not safe for drinking, anymore … I say anymore because it use to be clean back in old days .. but, people are not so desperate for water that they use this filthy water for drinking or cooking purpose !! Nepal has the highest amount of water resources in the entire world .. !! 🤷‍♀️

I would have loved to see Nepal in those days. I follow a guy on instagram who shares photos of his travels here back in the 60's and 70's and of course, much remains the same, but conversely, there are immeasurable differences. I hope that the pollution can be gotten a hold of and improved rapidly over the coming years

It is refreshing to hear the real issues that vloggers and tourists have, a lot of vloggers sugar coat everything. I am in Kathmandu right now and and those guilds are a real pain in the butt!! also those scammy "artists" that try and befriend you then get you to an artist school to try and sell you over priced paintings...wankers!!!
@TheWanderLife
@TheWanderLife 4 ай бұрын
Yea it’s a tricky one really, because I know that people want to see sunshine and rainbows and positivity, and you’ll come across as an ungrateful, moaning bugger if not, but it’s just not in my nature to sugarcoat everything. I think the whole point of these kind of videos is to have fun, showcase the place but more than anything, these are my own memories for the future and so I want to recall both the good and bad you know. I’m in India at the moment and very tempted to return to Nepal for a little bit soon. How are you finding it? (Minus the tricksters and scammers 😂)

@@TheWanderLife Your video certainly prepared me for the scammers and how not to get scammed. It is actually a really nice city, love the old buildings but not the traffic lol, people are really cool, even the artist scammers are all good when I tell them I know what their game is lol

And I would like to correct you one thing, you said you cannot drink tap water all over Nepal which is totally wrong. Yeah, it's true you cannot drink direct tap water in Kathmandu, that's all. There are many certified safe waters systems in many places outside Kathmandu valley where you can enjoy it without any issue.

I hope so too. Would very much love to return one day in the future and see a change. We were in Panauti recently and some days later I saw a photo on Instagram of the same spot in the 1960's. The difference was night and day. Such a shame how the many areas are being impacted by pollution

# EVERY COUNTRIES HAVE POLLUTION PROBLEMS ,IT'S A WORLDWIDE PROBLEM ,SO SHOWING ON VLOGS DO NO GOOD ,INSTEAD IT RUINS THE VLOG AND GIVES BAD IMPRESSIONS TO OTHER TOURIST ABOUT NEPAL, SHOW ONLY NICE THINGS, DON'T SPREAD NEGATIVITY LIKE COVID PLEASE, I DON'T LIKE IT
@TheWanderLife

Sorry, that's your choice whether to watch and enjoy that, but for me, it's important to show the real experience. I understand you may not like to see the negative things, but it's important that they're highlighted because it's the only way progress is made. You want to spread the positive things for tourists, but surely you also want those tourists to come back again, so the relevant authorities should be held accountable for improving these things, for the sake of the tourism industry but more importantly, for the health and well being of the people here and the environment of what is a very beautiful country. Yes, they are worldwide issues, but I'm here right now, and I'll continue to highlight them in any other places I go to where I find it. Thanks for watching, Wayne
