You are legendary in my book. The monsters I've seen you catch, saltwater, brackish, freshwater, it doesn't matter, you just get it done. And you're using light and medium rods and reels. That NC & VA. Maryland, Chesapeake area has really impressed me.

OMG, can you say a CHUNK ! Kayak Catfish would be proud. I fished the James a lot in my youth for Stripers, did well. Tried for cats once only w no luck. Nice to see someone else getting tired reeling in hogs. Hands down, mullet are the best bait for sure, but the food chain dictates and mr gray usually gets 1st dibs. Well done.

I live in Richmond the river has been a mess all spring, you actually caught it at one of the better times. You picked a good spot. The river is loaded with cats of all sizes, they eat everything they can including smeller blue cats, stripers and literally anything else they can get in their mouths.

I have not tried cats from the yak yet but I really have too, they are just so fun and there sure are some giants here near New burn. You should try the river here. You know the river. my friend and I got 7 blues 33 to 38 inchs and a 42 inch flathead the first time we tried for them here. I can only imagine really focusing in on them with the yaks!

Cool video, sucks being so far away from the salt around Charlotte but that's what I chase a lot of on Lake Norman and Badin Lake. I hauled one into my revo once about that big, now I just take them to the bank, its much safer. When I was young we took home a bunch of channel cats from the upper Chesapeake and the meat was super clean and delicious.
