One of the most underrated and overlooked martial arts action films of literally all time, the concept was so creative in its blend of two amazing genres: Found-footage and martial arts. With that and story that was genuinely well-written with twists that made sense and a dark tone reminiscent of Manhunt(the games not the John Woo movie) the film just really shines, Z Team did a great job, wish they made more movies, shorts, whatever and didn't just disappear without a trace.

Ah Wilson, of course man, great tribute, very good choice of the song, "you've never seen a fight like this before" chorus fits so well with the film, cause you really haven't seen anything like it.
@Wilson956 жыл бұрын
Great notice ! I used this song purposely 😉 Because the fight scenes in this film in particular are soo unique 👍

While we're still on topic of awesome Martial arts action movies Wilson, I strongly recommend watching Re: Born which just came out, starring the Japanese martial arts expert Tak Sakaguchi, it is fricking amazing and also wildly creative, some of the best knife fights you'll ever see man, the forest set-piece lasts almost half an hour in the film, check it out !

I dont understand why people criticize movies like this for looking like dancing and "not real." Its called martial arts choreography, the goal isnt to make it look real. Its suppose to be entertaining and badass because it's a Martial arts movie.

@Gatz225 жыл бұрын
You are always going to get cry babies who complain about anything, even martial artists and UFC fighters have stated that if it was too realistic then the fights would end quick and be boring, that's why they use these flamboyant moves to keep the action going and entertain the viewers, but if people are still going to complain then they should watch the fight scenes of Jackie Chan vs Benny the Jet in 'Wheels on Meals' and Donnie Yen vs Collin Chou in 'Flashpoint'
@HexenStar Жыл бұрын
@@Gatz22 Correction: Donnie Yen VS Michael Woods (anywhere) and Siu Won Fan "Death Games". K1 fights were extremely entertaining. Old school kickboxing was way better than martial arts movies. (unless the latter were Hong Kong productions). Real fights of Alexio, Theriault, Urquidez, Trimble and other top athletes at their prime - were ALWAYS a lot of fun to watch. UFC fights are very boring in comparison. Movies that include UFC fighters in their cast - far more often than not result in extremely maladroit fight scenes that look like a cross between clownery and travesty.

This is the very best achievement of western martial arts action cinema. Clearly inspired by the young Donnie Yen and young Siu Wong Fan. No big budget or fancy effects, but the choreography is unmatched by anything that came before or after in the west. Nothing. There is literally nothing better in the west of movie industry. Including the exploits of the venerable Scott Adkins. (even though his technique was indeed sharper than this, when he was at his prime) However...in the east, that is another matter. There, this kind of stuff is just tuesday.

Iko Uwais, John Wick, and WWE are the reasons I love fight choreography more than actual fights. It reminds me of Acrobatic Kung Fu. When it's done right it's even more interesting than a real fight because even a casual can see the cards being played out and I just love "all cards on the table" moments.
