Tangental thought: this probably won't happen becau$e becau$e and it is mostly a philosophy preference (and post-pandemic health adjustment that could have been made but wasn't), **A matchup in the first 2 rounds of the playoffs should be concluded when either team goes up 3-0.** There is no justification (except financial) for matchups between disparate seeds to prove they can get 4 in a row, after already winning 3 in a row. Mandatory 7 game series should only be in a Finals (conf & league) The other 7-game _grinds_ are just that.

Vaziri was doing so well until he defended Lue, you can hold players AND coaches accountable. Ever wonder why non productive players get minutes? Ever wonder why players fear no consequences when they continue to screw up? It’s coaching that sets dah tone.

I, as hardcore Mavs fan have learned to love your content and personality, despite not even rooting for your team cause I can just tell you are a genuine, sensible guy who just happens to care a lot about his basketball team. Obviously I can watch this rant with one side of the mouth smiling but I know what it feels like to be in complete misery because of a sports team, not just basketball related. I am from Germany and a huge soccer fan since childhood, my love for the sport(s) pretty much defines who I am, I can relate so much to you in that area. I've had to endure a lot of heartbreak in my fan career so far aswell. Sometimes you just feel silly to be so invested in millionaires that don't give a flying F about you and how those people can affect your everyday life or determine your mood on a weekly basis. But for some of us it's hard to just turn off the switch and not care. The love will always be there, originating in childhood memories, the people you have met through the passion, moments have lived through, good or bad. If I was a Clippers fan I would be fuming in similar fashion, I can empathize with you. I can only hope the organization would treat their franchise with as much care and passion as you present for your club. @@josdomam ...they are though by replacing the head coach. It will be a new star teammate and new offensive/defensive systems. All the top seeds in the west will have the same basic foundational players and coaching staffs. Bron is going to cost the team $50 mil+ combined with AD's $45 mil+......what type of team can be built around them? How long will it take the new coaching staff to get everything organized? I don't care what type of money players make, Bron and AD are worth every penny but they have to accept more responsibility when the team comes up short rather than people blaming ancillary players and coaches. I think the organization should really consider a rebuild now while Bron and AD are still highly valued in the league. I do understand your point. Attendance will definitely suffer and branding/marketing opportunities will suffer because The Lakers won't be on national television during the rebuild period. I get it.

Congrats on 10K subs! It's been a pleasure to be here along for the ride going all the way back to a rant for the ages, something I've included clips of in a few of my own videos, I especially loved the CPR quote about Glenn Rivers, to then seeing you really know X's and O's a lot better than a lot of people who have hundreds of thousands of subscribers and that you really know the history of the game too. I'm older than you and it was you that I learned about 60s and 70s dribbling rules from and that completely changed how I looked at that era. If the Clippers ever win a championship and you want to come celebrate in Tokyo, I'll definitely buy you a drink. Oh yeah great comeback for how about you make your own content because you and I know both know it is not easy to build your platform from the ground up in a sea of content creators. Only a few of us make it to monetization and an even smaller percentage can actually do this full-time. This isn't my full-time job either. No way. When it comes to blaming coaches, yeah I'm making a Lakers video right now and here's a spoiler alert. I said I don't like Darvin Ham and he definitely didn't deserve to keep his job but a coaching change won't even remotely be an end all be all solution.

He can have a lot of value still if he was used properly. But the league probably wouldn’t allow it. The smartest thing to do with Kawhi is don’t have him start his season until after the allstar break. that way you have a realistic chance at having him healthy April-June. He simply can’t make it through a full season anymore and still have enough gas to last an entire playoffs. Harden, Westbrook and PG are good enough to keep the team in the 6-8 seed range until the all star break.

And you know what, about Fabian's point, I can relate! Outside of 2020 and last year, the Lakers in Kobe's twilight years and Brandon Ingram and Lonzo Ball's rookie years were more fun to root for than any other Laker team with LeBron. At least early 2021 was fun and exciting trying to defend a championship but the way the season crashed down, especially seeing LeBron quit, that ruined all of it. The Knicks are my 2nd team yet I find myself enjoying their games way more than Laker games these days because I know the Knicks will play their hearts out every single game.

As a Spurs fan your point about home grown talent is very accurate. I hoped the Clippers could succeed when they got Kawhi because I feel so much for him as player, even with how he left our team in 2018 it still felt good to root for him with the Raptors and Clippers because I saw him grow up into the superstar he became and it means so much more to root for a player who was drafted to your team, who was a pivotal part of your favorite team ever. The truth is though Kawhi is simply an injured player who can sometimes be healthy, not just a player who gets injured. He has been healthy only 1 season since 2016, and it was the bubble when there was a 4-month hiatus due to covid and he choked 3-1. His body has been done for nearly a decade. He was hurt in 2017 even before fucking Zaza, missed 2018, in 2019 he wasn't even healthy against the Bucks. It wasn't a bad move to get him, he looked like the best player in the world after 2019 and was only 27 years old, but he just doesn't have the physical resiliency to be a team's best player. And his decision to force the Clippers to trade Paul George will go down as one of the worst trades in NBA history. He's done and as an organization you guys should trade him for whatever you can get. It just sucks that a player who is top-30ish all time will end his career without ever getting his jersey retired because he was too injury prone and never cared enough about any organization to really endear himself to a fanbase. The best chance he has is with a team he spent 1 season with and left as soon as he could because he never wanted to be there to begin with. But even as a fan of his I can't be mad that Clippers fans don't feel anything for him, in these five years he's done nothing and has been perhaps the most disappointing superstar of all time. He had a single series in 2021 when he put up Shaq numbers and then had nothing left. Kawhi left us in 2019 and as Spurs fan it was hard asf, people tried to tell us Demar Derozan was gonna carry our franchise, but any Spurs fan who watched Kawhi in 2017 knew how important he was to us. Some spurs fans can lie but we all thought he was our heir apparent, we thought we were the best example of twin timelines, as Timmy, Manu and Tony aged out Kawhi would come in and seamlessly take over. And it was good--until it wasn't, and for years we were in basketball purgatory. Kawhi was my favorite player for more than a decade, but it's done, his career is over, and any smart organization would move on. Hopefully the Clippers make the right decision recoup as much as they can and draft someone who can really bring success to the organization.

Dime, Want to say thanks for all the great content this year, and it was always a pleasure chopping it up with you at the games or online. Watching this video was an emotional roller coaster ngl as one that was very invested in this team and went to 10 regular season and 1 playoff game. I don't regret going to these games and enjoyed every win and loss. I don't agree with every take you had about each player, but all of your points are totally valid and totally respect your opinion on each one. I personally really enjoyed watching Harden this year. Obviously his game is flawed, but I enjoyed watching his pick and roll mastery and high IQ passing. Plus he's a lefty point guard so I have a bias for him as a lefty point guard myself. I think the point of the "forced love" for our stars is so valid as I never could justify myself buying a jersey for Kawhi or PG which is why I always wear my Terrance Mann jersey at the games. I think your video put in perspective for me that it wouldn't be the end of the world to blow this thing up because there is value to home grown talent for those players you mentioned towards the end of the video. Man, injuries really do stink because it just leaves an asterisk on the season in which we never really know how far the team can really go. The last 4 seasons have been left with an asterisk because of this and really just feels like a waste of time. I have a lot of respect for Steve Ballmer and he's saved the franchise in many ways. He had the balls to fire Glen Rivers!! I don't blame Steve for running the franchise the way he's running it and he is learning on the fly which is totally fair. Who are we to say we know how to run an NBA team. Ty Lue is a really solid coach and has to put up with a lot with this team unfortunately with the injuries. I think the only issue I had with him is getting bullied into playing PJ Tucker this year and Morris last year. Lawrence Frank however I'm slowly questioning his decisions, especially with his recent drafting as well as the Hartenstein debacle. It was clear this year that the league is getting younger and we're getting older, so this era will probably end hopefully sooner than later. However, I honestly don't mind running it back with these guys as I enjoy watching them play and we'll be somewhat decent during the regular season. I didn't really have any playoff expectations this year and just really won't going forward with these older stars. The regular season was really fun for me and I will look forward to the regular season next year as well at Intuit. If Balmer decides to blow it up I'll be happy too as we get to develop some home grown stars in a new arena. It is actually insane how cursed our franchise is but man when it finally happens, It'll be the greatest day ever. Thanks again for a fun season. Go Clips!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Agree with 95% of your comments. Last three seasons were very frustrating. Elimination in the play-in with Kawhi and PG out. Then a promising start versus the Suns and, again, Kawhi out. Now a solid Dec/Jan and a brief appearance in the 1st seed just to collapse again with a Kawhi-less line-up and very unreliable PG (not to mention some senseless decisions by Ty Lue). We didn't know back then the player SGA would become, but the PG trade looks so dumb now. The 213 plan really hasn't worked.

Man I feel this. Being a Nuggets fan in the mid 2000s watching our team get beat in the first round like 7 out 8 years. Watching Melo leave but then a few years later have our best regular season. Only to have Gallinari to tear his acl and get destroyed by an uprising warriors team. Constantly spinning the tires for the next 5 years until our 2014 2nd round pick blossoms into an all star along with Jamal Murray who we got in the Melo deal. Then to miss the playoffs in heartbreaking fashion in back to back years. Blowing a 17pt lead in a game 7 to Portland, losing to the lakers (again) after a miracle bubble run. And then deal with 2 years full of injuries. However winning that championship last season felt so rewarding. It felt like my passion for the nuggets was not in vain. To watch us build it for the ground up not just for one championship but to potentially contend for the next few years. If the clippers ever do climb that mountain it will be one of the biggest fulfillments a fan can have. Keep the passion cuz maybe one day it will be rewarded

I did, Dime. I called it when it happened. SGA was legit the moment the Clippers got him. Leonard has to go but it seems they are all in on him. Leonard is a buzz kill. The Clippers need to find a way to make George a permanent third option. But Leonard must go. And he still has a ton of trade value. I’d keep Harden and allow Westbrook to leave too. They need to find a scoring big man. Use Leonard as leverage to get that scoring big man you desperately need.

Mavs fan here too. I agree with the conclusions about the Clippers team. They are old and need to rebuild in a bad way. Dallas waited too long to rebuild as a favor to Dirk. On one hand, they lost out on Giannis. They also lost out on all the tanking years necessary to build a young, cheap talent base around what would eventually be their franchise in Luka. Now, I disagree with Dime Dropper's assessment that playoff teams could not succeed with ball dominant players. Lebron's multiple championships is a counter-example. In addition, Luka has dragged talent-deficient Dallas rosters to multiple playoff . His ball dominance was first and foremost out of necessity given how little in effective ball handlers Dallas had.

First time watching a dime dropper video. This is so much better than locked on when you’re not censored. Totally agree with on almost everything for the future. On the Kawhi thing, what’s most upsetting is that he may play more in Olympics than in the playoffs. What we should do is do a blowup slowly like the end of Lob City. Let Harden walk. If PG opts in to his last year, move him. Trade Kawhi mid season when you can find the best value when teams become desperate for that one push for a championship. If Russ wants to stay, I’ll let him as long as he’s ok with the surroundings. If Lakers want Ty, trade him for a pick but do not fire him since he has one year left. I don’t care whose in the front office as long as they take back control of the team. Player empowerment should never exist….ever.

I went to the OKC home game vs the Clippers back in February and man I’m so jealous of the fans and the passion of the players. Lower 100 section and you can see the players , coaches and staff really are all in. As a clips fan I’m so depressed looking at this team. I hope PG goes to FA and decides to step. The guy never accepts responsibility, is inconsistent and his athleticism has faded. It baffles me how a player who is trying to play “bully ball” never was a bully on the court and has no heart or ENERGY. He is half way in retirement with more ENERGY put into his podcast with his pole riding buddies. Like man go to another team and stop finessing this team already. The Mavs serious showed you are aged and lack any elite skill mentally or physically. Game 5 was an embarrassment by the Clippers and the fans deserve more. The sad thing is our terrible GM and Ballmer will drink the skool-aid resign these old bums and we will be back here again next year, sad. Blow up the team man including timid as Ty Lie. Get younger blood from the top down and just suck for awhile. The west are young and loaded. We are old and full of lame excuses. It’s a wrap!

Dime, speaking from the heart, no BS! Gotta blow up the team! Can't count on Kawhi, he's toast. Paul is on his way elsewhere. Ballmer has so much money to offer anyone to alter the outcome, but he might wanna blow it up,too. Russ was definitely cooking at the beginning of the season, & credit to him, he voluntarily agreed to go to the bench to let James be Alpha. That was all to appease Harden's ego. Not a good look. Also, the heliocentric aspect of D'antoni, Harden & ball-dominant players you broke down is HUGE! For many teams. It's not a real offensive scheme, just counting on 1 guy all the time. Thanks for your awesome perspective, sir! Stay true to your heart & your gut.

Fam, another Mavs fan commenting on this. I didn’t think I’d listen to the whole pod but whoa. You aired out some grievances. Let’s be honest real quick; there’s a significant chance they don’t blow it up and double down on this squad. That said, they really should blow it up. This isn’t even about the Mavs series, but fwiw I don’t think even with a healthy Kawhi y’all beat the Mavs but it’s not because of anything other than there’s not a clear offensive philosophy. It’s literally my turn your turn. My turn (pnr with Harden), your turn (iso with Kawhi/PG). That shit sucks and the only thing to enjoy as a fan is shot making. Team basketball is fun. Moving the ball around finding the best shot makes a difference in team play. Obviously as a Mavs fan, I’m down with heliocentric, primary ball handler pnr game but it’s because Luka is 25, dude. Clips big 3 is all over 30. Kawhis never going to be healthy, PG won’t ever be the player people want him to be, and Harden ..that guy would be so much better if he wasn’t trying to foul bait so much. Put the ball in the fucking basket and stop trying to find a market inefficiency (FT line). Which leads me to your next problem - most fans don’t think J Kidd is a good coach. Lue got outcoached and never found an adjustment outside of hoping the guys could make a bunch of 3s. I like Lue, but maybe this iteration has just run its course. Since I fully expect this team to do the exact opposite of what you want, my hope for Clips fans is that management sucks it up - stop building around Kawhi. He’s just a (very good) guy but you can’t spend any more seasons waiting and hoping for a healthy Kawhi. He can’t be the focal point of your offense; he needs to be a highly paid role player. Like literally, yall played a whole different game when he played games 2 and 3 and it was the dumbest shit. As much as you may not like it, Harden and Zu were cooking on the pnr and to use those games to “get Kawhi going” ugh. As a Mavs fan, I thank you, but that was some rough shit. Anyway brotha, keep it up. I felt everything you said.

I have been a clippers fan for almost 20 years, I agree/disagree with certain takes you have but mostly i agree with you except on where we go from here. according to nba attendance report we went from 17th in last year to 10th in this year, our tv viewers went significantly up. so it is clear for ballmer having these guys are bringing eyes and seats to the building. It is going be difficult for us to grow some homegrown talent like okc, wolves and denver because all these guys were top draft picks, Ant, Kat, Chet, Jalen, Murray, MPJ also clippers are not good at drafting look at our history for the last 20 years, i dont remember anyone good outside blake, sga, eric gordon, mann and DJ . unfortunately we dont have any choices when we made the trade, we knew it is going come to point that these guys are going be old and injury prone in their mid 30s but we thought we would have won a ring in our lifetime. Im pretty certain we are stuck with Kawhi and harden for next 2-3 years, im not sure about PG. they already tried to trade him last summer and in before trade deadline, I just hope they build a fun and young team around these guys, stay competitive till we find someone to take us to the championship. Congrats on the 10k
