Die Kino-Orgel von 1929

Die fast 100 Jahre alte #Kino-Orgel des #TECHNOSEUM wurde jüngst generalsaniert, so dass das gesamte Klangspektrum und das Effekteregister nun erstmals wieder voll zur Geltung kommen - finanziell gefördert durch den Freundeskreis TECHNOSEUM, die Rudolf-August-Oetker-Stiftung sowie die Wüstenrot Stiftung.
Regelmäßig kommt unsere Kino-Orgel bei #Stummfilmvorführungen im Auditorium zum Einsatz.

What a wonderful example of the work of Welte ! There weren't many Welte instruments here in the UK. Question regarding the video - in the shots showing the electro-pneumatic relay, it appears that the wind for this is taken from a regulator that is under tremulation, is there a reason for this ? Rather than it being from the static wind ? As I would imagine bouncing around like that would wear out the contacts rather quickly ! @@Technoseum Ah wonderful ! I'd be interested to know, one would imagine being on tremulated wind as seen in the video could potentially prematurely cause wear and damage to the contacts, with the contact wiper constantly rubbing against the fingers of the contact block.

@@ConacherOrgan Please excuse our late reply. Here is the feedback of our Museum's restoration staff 😊: The video shows the relay cabinet, the multiplex cabinet, the heart of the cinema organ. This is where the electrical commands are executed and transmitted pneumatically, using the static wind. A special feature of the cinema organ, apart from the special effects, are the tremulants, which produce the characteristic sound of a cinema organ - in contrast to classical church organs. The individual notes sound wobbly, i.e. not clear and pure, as a result of the wind impact. Our cinema organ has 3 tremulants for the Pedal, Manual I and Manual II windchests. These can be switched on or off separately via the console.

Bei uns ist als Herstellungszeitraum 1926-1929 hinterlegt. Eine handschriftliche Datierung weist auf den 16.10.1929 hin. Darauf beziehen wir uns. Unsere Stummfilmvorführung bewerben wir natürlich noch rechtzeitig 😊
