4 years ago I went through a bad divorce... the first girl I dated I had this moment with her. We knew it wouldn't work or last, but it's what we both needed at the time. Complete darkness, and your touch was the only sense that guided you. The kisses we soft and long, patial clothing. We were emerssed in each other's grip. It wasn't until a couple months after we parted ways I had heard this song. It still takes me back to those times and feelings, good and bad.

I still miss you. Other than my little star, my sky has been black, life has not been kind to me....maybe I deserve it for past sins, or maybe it's a product of choices I have made. One of the last times we spoke was 5 years after I walked away. I had just gotten back from my year and a half of duty down toward the beach. You messaged me when I got back, you wanted me to come see you at a restaurant you were eating at with a friend. I wanted to come see you, I wanted to fall at your feet, I wanted you to know that I loved you. But again, I was a coward, I was ashamed. I didn't want you to know that my duty broke me, that it wreaked havoc through my heart and mind. I tried to get on with multiple other agencies back home, but they all declined. Once you start seeing a certain type of doctor and taking certain types of medications, you become deemed a liability, which I totally understand and respect. Im not bitter that I couldnt jump on with another team, just ashamed. I was in the shit for almost a year before I realized I needed help, but it was too late. The anxiety and depression that mounted from the stress of that line of work made me crack. I would go to work each day, knowing I could get killed, and I didn't care. There were days I wouldn't even wear my armor, just to tempt fate. I was broken. I've never "come back" from that. I never deserved you, and Im glad for that. I never would have wanted you to take on these battles with me.
