No Verão de 2017, Portugal viveu um autêntico inferno de chamas. A tragégia humana e ambiental foi imensa e inundou-nos de imagens e consternação. Melodicamente, é baseada no antigo e famoso hino "Dies Irae" já utilizado por inúmeros compositors ao longo dos séculos.. Outro parâmetro inspirado dos incêndios foi o ritmo, inspirado na inacreditável falha de comunicações da tragédia, convertendo pra código morse algum do vocabulário associado (SIRESP, GNR, FOGO...)
Neste caso, temos a enorme banda a apagar esse fogo.
No final, temos um canto de pássaros que ressurge da madeira queimada.

In the summer of 2017, Portugal experienced a real inferno of flames. The human and environmental tragedy was immense and flooded us with terrible images. Melodically, this piece, it's based on the old and famous hymn "Dies Irae" already used by countless composers over the centuries. Another parameter inspired by the fires was the rhythm, inspired by the unbelievable communications failure of the tragedy, converting to morse code some of the associated vocabulary (SIRESP, GNR, FIRE...)
In this case, we have the huge band putting out that fire.

This work was the first prize winner of the VIII International Composition Competition BSP 2020 at Casa da Música.
