@Karl with a K Jesus, youre delusional. In order to amass the wealth needed to fund this, hard work is imperative. The idea that they must not have worked hard because they now have time to live their dream is flawed in every possible way. One that has been able to collect wealth, if over one or multiple generations, adds more value to society than the average worker. Considering that hes not multi billionaire out of touch with life, the most likely conclusion on how wealth was amassed is through entrepreneurship. It adds to society in various ways, ranging from innovation, more tax income to the government, to creating workplaces, most likely decreasing unemployment to an extent. There are so many factors you refuse to consider due to your narrow view dictated by jealousy and a lack of understanding.

I was confused when they said they had another engine, then proceeded to build Up a separate engine, with apparently different length pushrods? Having a back up engine normally means it’s ready to go, not a block and components that needs to be assembled at 2 AM while experimenting with seemingly random changes. The oil system modifications makes sense, but whose bright idea was it to change the pushrod length to the point where the engine wouldn’t even make compression? Anyways, impressive work all around in spite of the confusing aspects. Why such a short time to get things ready? Maybe they just got the idea to compete in pikes Peak a few weeks before the event? With all that stress, rushed and exhausted crew, I would have waited till next year and done it with plenty of practice and confidence. Also a few miles on the odometer/racetrack so you know it’s reliable? That’s probably why I’m not setting any records LOL I’m not at the end of the video yet, maybe they just had such a crazy and great idea that they win in spite of all the hardships. Can’t wait to find out! If they don’t do it this year, I’m excited to see what happens next year.
@andyharman30222 жыл бұрын
Yeah. I've been in that situation before, only with race boats. There is no substitute for getting the build done about a month before the event, and having time to work out the bugs. Don't try to build the fastest machine possible the first time out. Just build something that will go the distance.

I hate to sound like every other person commenting on everyone of y’all’s videos, so let me try this; I’ve watched every video pertaining to this vehicle build, but I cannot for the life of me figure out why y’all went with the ford 6.0. There are so many other diesels that are either more reliable at a similar dimension or more reliable at a smaller dimension. The rule of thumb I’ve always been thought is, “Always start with the most reliable engine you can, because the more you you want to shave off a lap the more you’re going to shave off the life of that motor, and that motors only gotta last one lap.” I can’t help but feel like whoever set y’all up with that motor set you up for failure. Sorry to sound so down, I’m stoked y’all got the car going and it’s unfortunate the engine starved of oil. Great saga. Can’t wait to see more of this car; even if it’s still rocking a six liter.

loosing oil pressure due to no oil was a common issue with V8 jetsprint boats so we put an oil return to the sump from both heads as turning hard corners the oil stayed up to the side of the sumps so baffles where added giving a sump in the sump so oil was always about the pickups , dry sump guys ran a scavenger line to the pump from heads and baffled the sump to reduce oil movement. looking forward to 2023 for the re attempt to take that title that has your name on it.

The car was great, but the crew really showed us teamwork. This is what men do.

Welp, now I have an even better reason to watch Pike's Peak next year. Best random video click of the week.

Watching from France. If you have a Diesel car, a Good Dieselist, is someone you might cross paths with once , or twice, if you're lucky, in a lifetime. And if you do, you'll notice it right away, if he touched your car!

The low RPMs and the quietness of the engine on the video really makes it seem like it's going a lot slower than it actually is. And it's weird how as a viewer my perception of speed is altered so much by what sounds I'm USED to hearing. Took a good second to realize how fast y'all were actually going. Absolutely dope build 😁🤙

That's diesel. They make their power by having twice the torque at half the rpm.

Impressive documentary guys, amazing to watch.

Good documentary, one which begs several questions: #1) Why the 6.0 versus the 6.7 chosen? #2) Was the latest 10 speed transmission used? #3) With a massive an engine up front, and in a 2wd vehicle, understeer will be a major issue. So, why wasn't a mid engine design chosen? #4) Has the cause of failure at the same point been identified? If yes, WHAT is it? (Given failure occurred at the same location, one might guess that the air pressure/density is a factor affecting fuel pressure/delivery or a MAP programming issue.)

At the 'electrical malfunction' part of the video, It's amazing how complexity/technology sometimes isn't the advantage one thinks. A p-pump 5.9 Cummins setup with electric only needed to start it is probably looking really good to those that run them.

I was watching sparks blowing out with the exhaust during qualifying, and knew the engine was eating itself. Dang.
