Looks awesome. Question: Can you feel the load behind the blade? On a 'regular ' machine, you can feel the load and 'strain' on the engine. I used to be able to 'feather' the throttle when fine grading and feel exactly how much material I was pushing vs. what is going under the blade. That combined with the automatic pitch control "in your butt" is what enables you to make and hold a grade. I don't know if I could "connect" to a machine that has the exact same torque, regardless of load. IUOE Local 15, 38yrs ret

Interesting! would be very surprising if the electric motor doesn't give you at least a little bit of feedback on the load and strain on the engine! Let me know if you ride one of the electric ones!

I'm dying to run one of these new dozers in real world conditions and put it through its paces.

I don't think you'll be disappointed judging from the feedback i've got from operators.

Sounds great, what are the operators saying about them?
@AwesomeEarthmovers3 жыл бұрын
All positive feedback. Plenty of power and very smooth to operate as there’s no power shift transmission with it being electric drive.
Sure getting lots of site compaction vs using a grader which I believe would be more efficient especially cost of equipment wear. Good advertising though.

Laser guided dozers. Lol. Nice. 🤣 I used to run lasers on a 6 but the GPS system is the way to go now.

What’s the fuel consumption on this vs a new gen d6
@AwesomeEarthmovers3 жыл бұрын
There are big fuel savings with the XE compared to direct drive D6’s. It depends on what application you are working in though.

Pretty cool concept and cool to see but sorry still will take a Komatsu over it.

Don’t knock the D6XE, it’s a very very good dozer.

@@AwesomeEarthmovers Not knocking cause I’m sure it’s a fine dozer just personal and company preference to run an i Komatsu dozer
@TsunauticusIV3 жыл бұрын
I didn’t like Komatsu... until I ran some. I especially hated the new small dozers with the sloped nose. But... the visibility is amazing. They can push. But... for a mid size machine... I’ll stick to cat. Smaller dozers...Komatsu. I can do pretty much anything from clearing to chasing 350 excavators to cutting curb and gutter pan with the older D41p Komatsu. They both make fine machines tho. But for mid size... D6 to D8 size machines... I’d take Cat.

Nice tractor, Looks like it's paired up with a total station for 1-3 mm Grading . For me i would still have a Komatsu over a cat...

Komatsu’s do get a good name for smaller dozers but the D6XE is a very good dozer and definitely worth being open minded about.

Don't think I would like to pay to replace any batteries after a few years.
@timacosta70153 жыл бұрын
There are no batteries, it's not a hybrid. It's diesel-electric so they use a smaller diesel motor (C9.3) to run a generator that provides power to the electric traction motors.

Why would U wear out all them , pins , bushings, sprockets, rollers , and track chains, when a grader can do the same job better faster and only wear out the cutting edge. Absolute waste of a machine . It was never made to do a graders job.
