I have a 89 toyota pickup, which is the same as a 4runner, I bought it for 500, put some parts in it cuz it sit for 7 years, new fuel lines, brake lines, fuel pump assembly, radiator, thermostat, valve cover gaskets and intake gasket, still runs to this day, the clutch hasn't been replaced in 16 years and never slips once, even when I have more weight then the truck on the hitch

Some People makes the Error, trying to build in a new Motor in a Car which cannot hold it. In the Descriptions of the Cars you can read what they can use. For example, a Car with an OHV Motor can only use other OHV Variants, but no V8 or I6 or so. Same with I3 or I4, they cannot use V6 or V8 Motors. Yesterday someone in the Official Discord Chat wrote, he tried to put a Supercharged OHV in a Car and got an Error Message. Came out, the Car couldn't inhabit a Motor with Supercharger. Sometimes a little reading can help prevent extra costs. ^^

It doesn't seem practical to replace the cheap parts like tie rods or linkages that are in the 90+ condition percentage with the exact same but new parts from the store. Replacing them might bump the overall price a couple credits for each replaced part but you paid 25-50 credits per part to do that. It looks like all it does is cuts into profits to me.

I'd like to know what I spent on parts in the cars I fix. So when I sell them I can see what I put in and what I get out when sold. I know it tells you the profit, but no clue what that number truly means.

Possible Pro Tip for CMS 2021: When restoring/fixing and flipping a vehicle, as done in this excellent video, get the value of the car when complete (including alignments), then take it to either the Speed Track or Race Track. Bring it back to the garage, check the increase in value, and proceed to sell the vehicle. That money will add up fast!

You must actually complete a lap or pass, I believe. I always do, but haven’t tested just showing up and returning to the garage without running the vehicle at least one lap/pass. Will test and verify…

Just tested the show up and leave/no pass or lap theory. Currently, you will make the extra money just by going to the track of choice and returning to the garage. Value before was 65909 credits and after was 69806 credits. (1957) Delray Custom V8 2carb OHV at 100% with 211,504 miles.

Update: It appears this trick has now been nullified. I was doing further testing after patch 1.0.5, and this no longer works. Three separate restorations, and values do not change after Speed track or Race track visits. Nice while it lasted, but now it’s gone.
