Best railfan window I have ever seen. On the CTA, you have to go over to the left hand side of the front cab and stand there to look out. The older TTC rolling stock also have a railfan seat, but you have to kneel in the seats

This is one thing for if you are in a wheelchair. If you are in a wheelchair, your hands have to be right on the drive wheels ready to push forward to roll right on or be ready to shift that joy stick forward once you hear the train approaching. And I love the glass walls that are mounted right on the edge of the platform. That is what we need here in the STL for our MetroLink.

Its a tried and tested concept. That's why it works. When you get limited productions runs with specifications that differs from Italian Climate that's how you get into trouble ie. Dutch-Belgium IC trains and the IC4 in Denmark. The Danes didn't Terminate the contract like the Belgium/Dutch did and cut their losses but rode with the project right out over the cliff due to a compination of mass incompetence, politcal BS and sadly my suspection corruption.
@SummerADDE_Elevators4 жыл бұрын
@@martinjuulandersen9694 It's mostly an hit or miss. Oslo ordered trams from Ansaldobreda, wich works decently well, while Gothenburg also ordered trams from Ansaldobreda, whohave many flaws thats needed to be fixed, similarly to the IC4 story. Stockholm Metro ordered the signaling upgrade from Ansaldo STS back in 2013 (the same provider to the copenhagen metro btw.) but due to constant delays, the contract was eventually terminated and the metro kept the old system...

3:05 - No AnsaldoBreda make very bad trains just see the ICE4 project also in Denmark which was both delayed for many years and far more expensive than expected. The AnsaldoBreda ICE4 trains also included a lot of technical errors which the Danish State Railway was forced to correct before they could be approved to be used in Denmark. The building of the Copenhagen Metro was likewise not without its problems.
@troelshansen62127 жыл бұрын
AnsaldoBreda are actually quite good at these kinds of rapid transit solutions. The main fault of the ICE4 project was that we danes - once again - wanted to re-invent the wheel from scratch and ordered some highly customized diesel-driven trains (which hardly anyone even builds anymore and it's not easy to build Diesel trains) to complex specifications, instead of simply buying a more standardised solution. AnsaldoBreda can be faulted for not having the self-awareness to realise that this was over their heads and stay far away in the first place, sure. But I think that the half-witted politicians have learned the lessons with their commitment to finish the electrification of the danish railroads (so that we can switch to more readily available electric trains exclusively) and sticking to tried and tested train models in the future
@Simgiov6 жыл бұрын
The fault on ICE4 was on the danish side, AnsaldoBreda kept following the ever-changing guidelines and re-engineering the same train all over again adding more and more customizations. Don't blame AnsaldoBreda.

Nope try 2036 before all of the s-trains are automated. And given how the new train signal system is coming along for the intercity and regionals trains which has been delayed to 2030 mayby. If anything ringbanen might be converted to an automated Line first. But given how ridiculous bad railroaded projects go in Denmark in terms of cost overuns and delays. And lets not forgot that the metro project is currently underfounded because some hippies has stopped the housing development in Amager that was meant to finance the metro.
