Yes Sir! My great grandma worked in that same building from 1951 to 1973. Then my grandma starting from 1969-1973 and later moved to Portsmith, Virginia. So Very Awesome Dieselducy!

This is awesome Andrew! Great video. The interlock is a L-1 with a patent date of 1927. This may very well have been one of the first units made and used if the building was built in 1927. There are thousands of CJA products still out in the field today running elevators safely and reliably and they will continue to do so! To those elevator filmers out there, my challenge to you is to find as many as you can.

There was an elevator at my elementary school in Chicago.( Before they were replaced with new ones) I remember the gate however as being electric. Cool elevator. Thanks for posting.

Okay, now that is awesome! I remember finding an old elevator at the San Francisco town hall when we were in America in 2009. It was a real old one like this, but I didn't know if we were allowed to ride it or not. We could go inside though, which was neat!
@upanddownadventures7 жыл бұрын
I think you are talking about the service elevator, which still works. I don't think the public is usually allowed to ride it, but I may ask to ride it.

Did you make elevators in the isle of man? if u did, where are those elevators? I havent found any CJ Anderson lifts in iom yet.

If someone is on the third floor and they need the elevator (but it isn't at their floor) how do they know whether to push the UP or DOWN button outside?
@scottr71157 жыл бұрын
There is no "up or down" button it's a call elevator it may look like that from the icon at the bottom.

I'll try looking for some CJ Anderson lifts in the Isle of Man.

Here are reasons George won't do it 1. It is a Schindler. Not worth anyone's time 2. You need to be a student to go to the school. You can't just walk in expecting to film the elevator Now, Kansas City is a LONG way away JUST to film elevators...
@cjandersonco11 жыл бұрын
I don't think so. We do have equipment in the middle east from the 1950's & 1960's but I can't recall an in the Isle of Man.

The Third floor up from the one you entered looks like it might have some kind of automatic exterior door opener on it.

You look through the window, if you cant see the cables you call it down. If you can you call it up. If you see the cab there, then you just open the door :)

My dad is the boss of the business there I've been on it about 20 times and the sound isn't awful, its just the microphone the guy was using. The only thing I don't like is you have to hold the button down the WHOLE way up/down.
