wow i missed that during my 2010 trip to atlanta ga. nice elevator. the leveling could be adjusted. clean fixtures and lights are a helpful.

That was weird though. They have a monotone MT chime on the exterior and HT chime on the interior

@georgef551 SIMON redid this elevator. The actual "Nordstrom Elevator" is a Westinghouse Traction modernized by Schindler (400A-style) and it talks. Since the store is in a renovated Lord & Taylor, they kept the original c. 1969 elevator, and therefore only have ONE elevator serving... FIVE floors

@funcik1 it is a small level that is only by Belk. The lowest level in the remainder of the garage is P2

The walls actually are relatively nice, so there WAS something to look at. That's about it, though. There's similar 4-story Schindlers in the Nordstrom at the Natick Collection (Natick, Ma.), but they're 400A's. NICE!

@dea41396returns This elevator is NOT the one inside Nordstrom, it's actually one of the mall elevators just outside of Nordstrom's mall entrance....but I don't know elevators so I'm not sure if that comment helps @dieselducy That elevator bites. It breaks down regularly--at least 4 times in the past 18 months--and its current antic is to screech on the way down between 1 & P3. It's intermittent but scraping noises are never nice.

Why do Sxhindlers go DOWN in underground parking garages instead of up? It goes from P3 to P2 souldn't it be the other way around?

The cab is beautiful like most Nordstrom elevators, but too bad it's a 330A and not a 400A because most Nordstrom stores 3 or more floors have traction elevators. If this were a 400A, this elevator would the best instead of the mall's ugly and vandalized service elevator.
