Wow! The stairway looks like it’s rotated 45 degrees, Or the better explanation is that if the stairs were completely straight flat down, We could literally slide all the way 20 floors down. However It would be impossible to make it back up though.

Can you access the stairs from the first floor? I am claustrophobic and never get on elevators, so I’m curious if they allow guests to use stairs to go up to their room.

Its even weirder than the weird staircase that the college i went to back in 2018-19 had (That college had 4 staircases in the main building, South Fire Exit (which had no return doors with panic bars, from what i was told by another student, the doors on this staircase could not be opened from the staircase side at all, not even with a key, the only way off the staircase was at ground level), South Main Staircase, North Main Staircase, North Fire Exit (which had a goods lift off of it), the South Fire Exit staircase was the only staircase that had panic bars, the rest had doors which did not latch shut, and did not have any sort of lock on them, and for those wondering, the North Main Staircase was the weird one)

Yes this looks pretty much like the behind the the scenes of the Luxor. And I totally understand the health point. But I've also seen another comment saying that there are usually alarms on stairwells in high-rise buildings. And there happens to be something that I've been wondering about for years: Can they prohibit people (Customers, office building workers, hotel guests, even tenants in apartment buildings etc...) from taking the stairs instead of elevators ? There seems not to be any alarm on the 23th floor stairwell door in this video but it's clearly marked "Emergency exit only" nonetheless. Could you have used the ground floor exit if you wanted to or was it locked/secured/alarmed ?
@DieselDucy2 жыл бұрын
Some are alarmed but not usually. In a lot of high rise buildings the stairs are for emergency use only but many are open to the public.
@psirvent82 жыл бұрын
@@DieselDucy Thank you very much for the reply. 👍 So that means in the high-rise buildings you mentioned you absolutely can't take the stairs ? What about claustrophobic people ?

Actually, GeorgeF551 has a video of him taking a highrise manpowered elevator both up and down. I believe it was at least 8 stories worth of travel. The funny thing he did in that video is make like it had a motor at the top and so as he gets closer to the top, he make the machine sounds and progressively get louder as he got to the top and then made them fade away as he started down. If the elevator is "man-powered", that means he himself is the "motor" that powers the travel. It was still cute. I had a video up where I went up about 14 floors and then took the scenic "man-powered" elevator with a friend in tow. He complained a little about walking all the steps but he made it. The MPE stole the show. 1:37 DEATH TRAP! 13 was death trap. I like the way the steps "pyramid" out as you are going down. Too bad it's not scenic. You said "Pyramid" after I said it, great minds thinking alike? Cuz I'm takin' it step by step. You shouldn't have any problems with all the cycling you have been doing. Don't look up. That might make you feel overwhelmed and discouraged. Damn graffitiers. You got us both beat as you just did 40 floors worth of man-powering up. Glad those doors were not locked. In some cases in emergency stairs, all the doors are locked until you get to the first one.
