This old generation actually looks nicer than the new generation but the interior of the new one is far better, and the face lift of the new generation is cool.

Such an awesome review. Thanks for showing this to us. I’d love to find one of these for my daily driver.

The automatic air suspension does not “automatically compensate” while driving aggressively like the GM magnetic ride. The auto air suspension is speed based. If you are traveling at more than a certain speed (50 mph I think) it lowers the suspension and stiffens it to dynamic mode. When you travel at lower speeds it will be in comfort mode. If you exit highway and come to a stop you will notice the suspension raise the vehicle back up to comfort mode for more dampened driving at lower speeds.

A really great review! Shopping for one now, and this review has a ton of positives vs the negative reviews it seems to get from a handful of people. One of my fears/concerns was the fuel costs to operate. But your example shows an advantage, even if it doesn’t get 700+ miles per tank. With such a large tank you’ll fill up only half the time of a similar vehicle.

Well, I found the perfect deal in San Francisco, and I'm loving it! Had it shipped to Dallas a couple of weeks ago. 2014 TDI Prestige with only 33,278 miles on it. Super-duper extra clean! Thanks again for the great review. It really helped sell me on the car!

How was your experience with the Q7???? Overall reliability???
@breakingcycles7417 жыл бұрын
The new Q7 is actually bigger than the older one. I believe the length and width are similar but the new Q7 is actually taller. It doesn’t seem like it, but it is. And the new Q7 has a more spacious interior as well.

Breaking Cycles the new Q7 is actually a little bit smaller than the old body style according to Audi.

I just bought a 2011 with 40k miles for $21k. Original sticker new was $73k. Has all the upgrades, including B and O sound system, push button start, and running boards, but no adaptive cruise or air ride. Put 5k miles on it so far and Love it.

I think you should've do the One fuel tank challenge to see if it can do the work with only one tank but it should've be the 3.0 diesel to be more challenging

Has the trailer assist feature made it to the US?
@mturner2213 жыл бұрын
Pretty sure you can activate that feature with a VAG scanner like VCDS or obdeleven. The TDI is great but very expensive when it comes time for maintenance. Ive got the 4.2 V8 and its higher mileage (140k) but it has been non-stop chasing maintenance related problems. Mostly electrical and very hard to diagnose. These cars are not good for anybody that cant do their own work. You will go broke quickly taking this into a garage for service.

I’m curious as to how you got the number 739 for the diesel range miles? I myself have a 3.0 tdi Q7 and unloaded driving at low rpms have never seen those numbers and neither have any of the real world tests I’ve seen on this vehicle. I was curious if you actually did 739 miles on a tank yourself or if that information came from somewhere else. The numbers I’ve seen for the diesel in real world experiences are 600 miles per tank and about 500 for a gas engine. Thanks

@DieselDrives7 жыл бұрын
+bestman81 That V12 look was an option on the V6 in the US because we only had the V6 diesel. The V8 and V12 diesels never made it to the US. We did get the V10 TDI about 10 years ago and those are very rare here.

show me where diesel is cheap I will drive down there to fill up....anyway do you have any review on A8 Tdi?
@DieselDrives8 жыл бұрын
+Ato Nympha Here are two examples. Los Angeles: Diesel $2.799 vs 87 Octane $2.899 www.gasbuddy.com/Station/25390 Austin: Diesel $2.199 vs 93 Octane $2.689 www.gasbuddy.com/Station/79009 It depends on what you want to compare diesel to, since a 4-cylinder TDI competes with other gas cars that can run on 87 octane while 6-cylinder TDI models compete with vehicles that require premium 91-93 octane. Overall, a gallon of fuel is still cheaper than a gallon of milk.
