I was taking Dexamethasone for 8 weeks with very little sleep and my hematologist took me off the steroids without weaning me off, I am now having horrible inflammation in my joints and now have edema. He put me on Promacta, but my platelets are still low and dropping week to week, the highest they got was 83k but last week at 53k. I’m in so much pain, and cannot take ibuprofen. What are other ways to get the inflammation down? The hematologist is horrible, my blood platelets dropped down to 2k and he never even called, when I saw my bloodwork I called him and asked why he never called to alert me, or do something, he suggested I find a new hematologist! Wow, so I guess he was giving up on me! I finally found another hematologist but won’t see him until February 2nd 2024. I guess I’m on my own until then! 😢

It is not a steroid but a immunomodulatory drug which suppresses the immunity for a specified period - Replied by Dr. KK Team.

@@drkarunakumar-hematologist1260 respected sir , my mother takes this drug for 1.5 years & her platelets was above 1.5 lack, then doctor stopped this medicine & kept under observation , for 5 months she was having normal platelet cout , but abbruptly , her platelets gets down to 20k, now doctor started same medicine i.e biomyf 500 agin , but now this medicine is not so much effective , what it was before relapse. Now respected sir, my question is now why this medicine is not so effective after relapse. Plz reply sir🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
