I'm a little confused about how much time is spent in the kitchen as opposed to how much time is spent actually consulting patients as well as administrative computer work like menu planning or researching in the hospital. How is the day divided up between all of those duties? Does the DT create the menu, cook the food, and consult the patient all in the same day?

They are highlighting a number of industry jobs available to the DT: Culinary, clinical, foodservice, management, and clinical can be stand alone positions or integrated together. the 450 hours of the DT program provide a diverse number of experiences to introduce students to each of these fields.

currently i work as a diet clerk, my supervisor's are DT & attend menu planning meeting, and then there's other DT that do the clinical side that sees patients/ does chart review. none of the DT where I work cook, sometimes either us clerks or supervisors have to check(expedite) the tray line but that's the closest to cooking we get.
