This is probably going to be confusing, but I’m going to try my best to write it out. *How do you know when to say _____ of _____ vs. _____ of the ______ To translate orange juice from English to Spanish it is ‘jugo de naranja’, but if you translate bus stop it would he ‘parada del autobús’. Would de still be acceptable for both?

Creo que viene de la estación de trenes, porque hay muchos trenes que van y vienen. Si decimos la estación del tren, implica que solo hay un tren.

Por ejemplo: La estación está lejos del bar (the station is far from the bar), Estoy cerca del banco (I'm close to the bank - of the bank we say in Spanish). La estación del tren ('the station of the train' we say in Spanish)

What about the term "THE QUEEN OF THE SOUTH", which is LA REINA DEL SUR? If DEL is used for the singular masculine things, then why not use DE LA instead of DEL when the word QUEEN is FEMININE?

'Al' se usa antes de un sustantivo masculino singular, por ejemplo: voy al bar, voy al cine, voy al centro (es incorrecto: voy a el bar, voy a el cine, etc). 'Del' se usa antes de un sustantivo masculino singular, por ejemplo: vengo del bar, vengo del cine, vengo del centro. 'A la' se usa con un sustantivo femenino singular, por ejemplo voy a la farmacia, voy a la oficina. 'De la' se usa antes de un sustantivo femenino singular, por ejemplo: vengo de la escuela, vengo de la farmacia, vengo de la oficina. How is "de" properly pronounced?

That's a great question! Gracias por preguntar Dee!! thank you for asking. So the pronunciation is of 'de' is a very soft 'd', it would sound similar to a 'th' pronunciation in English. Think for example how you pronounce 'the' or 'though' compared to 'dvd' or 'dona'. So with 'th' your tongue is softly placed between your teeth and it touches your upper teeth to produce the sound, that is how to pronounce 'de' in Spanish.
