What is the difference between a grafted fruit tree and a seedling fruit tree?
One tree is grown from the seed the other has matured parent material spliced onto a seedling tree.
The rootstock seedling tree generally has a large root system and is less susceptible to diseases.
Seedling trees can take up to 7 years to produce fruit and may never produce fruit.
Also, the seedling tree may not be the same as its parent once it matures.
