So poorly explained. Knock-out drum are used to separate liquids from the gas by using the principle of gravity for those system where both liquid and gas mixture are immiscible and the gaseous stream entrains the liquid particle whether they are produced from the condensation e.g After each stage of air compression in air compressor there is a knock-drum to separate water from air due to condensation of water in the air stream. Whereas, fash drums are flash distillation separators which operators on the principle of relative volatility. Eg. Water-glycerine or water-urea flash drums where the relative volatilities are from 500 to 10'000.

The reactor temperature is set by controlling the amount of hot regenerated catalyst that is allowed to flow out of the regenerator to mix with the oil. This flow rate is automatically controlled by the regenerated catalyst slide valve(s). The slide valve opening is controlled based on the reactor temperature. If the reactor gets too hot, the controller will close the slide valve slightly, reducing the amount of catalyst flow until the reactor temperature is at the desired level. If the reactor gets too cold, the slide valve opens to allow more hot catalyst from the regenerator to mix with the oil.

Very nice sir. Flash drum is usefull for recover of steam from high press codensate like Column condensate and knock out drum is use to capture moisture from gas in gas mfg plant like H2 and N2 gas. Can u explain abt dimister pad. Plz explain in reply comment in short but sweet way.
