• Managed Code - the code excuted by the CLR, instead of the operating system - in the managed code the runtime will provide services like: garbage collector, type checking, exception handling (since the code is executed by the CLR, the runtime is going to provide such services) - the code is compiled by the language compiler into IL (intermediate language) code • Unmanaged Code - the code that directly executes under the operating system - does not provide services like: garbage collector, type checking, exception handling (all these things should be taken care by the programmer itself) (the programmer should write the piece of code to deallocate the memory) - the code will be compiled into native code

So C++ is unmanaged? But C++ is a .NET language and should run on the CLR, right? Or I misunderstood that point… but I read that unmanaged code is only executed outside of C# when C# (the language I’m using) calls outsourced code.
