Yes!! Of course, because NIFT work with industries at national level. And we all know in India salary is low for any job. While Pearl is not only in Indian market and industry but in collaboration with London, Australia, Paris and Italy fashion markets so they provide far more opportunities than NIFT. It's like their offered placement can have package ranging from 5 lakh- 1millon+ salary/year. I have talked with Pearl consultant that's why sure of it. When qualifying both exams are tough. Both have general and creative section exam but just Pearl has a personal interview round too.

Hey, ISDI Parsons is a good bet for fashion for UG if you're not getting into NIFT and NID this year. But let me warn you that it is also twice the money as compared to NID or NIFT. Just keeping that out there transparently for you to know. :)

It's really upsetting that other fashion institutes in India which are on par with NIFT and Pearl are not given their due importance and recognition, when there are lakhs of students studying from these institutes who have equal amount of potential and they just need to get noticed. I too work in the fashion industry, and I don't understand the whole idea behind several design houses who give more preference to NIFT or Pearl Academy while hiring candidates.

Vivek Ananthasubramaniam Agreed. But I think it boils down to various factors: number of years in the business, the infrastructure, associations and affiliations with various credited and recognised bodies and institutes, both national and international, the advisory board members, etc. NIFT and Pearl with 25-30 years of experience and alumni all over the world today have become a brand in itself. When you graduate from these institutes, there’s an automatic brand value you’ve created for yourself. I am not saying other institutions aren’t good. They are. But there are a lot of factors that come in play. It’s similar to studying in an IIT or another engineering college. The other institute maybe good but IIT has a brand value it has earned over the years which is not easily beatable. :)

It's easy guys just focus on basics I qualified both NIFT and PEARL (got really good scholarship) just go and do it ! GOOD LUCK Don't panic for the interview round and get scared by some elite portfolio works ,( to be honest I got very scared to see those ) I went in without a proper portfolio ( my board exams just finished 5 days back) and I carried some of my paintings. The interviewers were very pleased and even she asked price for buying one of my paintings, I also got lucky and she took me to meet the honourable fashion designer Sir, Sabyasachi Mukherjee. So Have Faith and trust on yourself ! This was my story of the whole process thanks for reading.

One more tip , be creative guys you may be asked to illustrate and draw some designs Infront of the interviewers so be confident and put your imaginations in that piece of paper . I'm sharing one of my Interview questions : Q. Who is your favourite celebrity actress ? What will you design if she attends Ambani's wedding function in an abroad city ? (Tip : just keep basic knowledge of your favourite fabric material (like chiffon, satin etc as they may ask you or you yourself can let them know when you answer the above kind of question )
