My question - Is it ok to have a joint NRI or an individual account considering tax (capital gains) implications on future transactions, if someone has properties on individual names separately? Repatriate means us Paisa ko wapas foreign account me transfer krna. NRE account me yearly limitation nai hai. But NRO ACCOUNT me limitations hai. Ek limited amount hi wapas apne foreign account me yearly basis par transfer kr skte hai

Its advisable to open NRO account for any Capital Gain or Dividends from Stock, However you can credit sale of property in NRE Account but for this You have to hire some CA who can submit required returns to relevant authority and get the certificate based on this certificate you can deposit INR in NRE Account ( Long Process not advisable )

Just a little point, capital gains in NRE account is tax free in India but you will have to pay tax in your resident country depending on the tax slabs there.

Yes. Foreign tourists during their short visit to India can open a Non-Resident (Ordinary) Rupee (NRO) account (Current / Savings) with any bank dealing in foreign exchange. Such an account validity is up to a maximum period of 6 months. However they Can not open NRE account it for Non Resident Indian or Person of Indian Origin ( who parent or grand parent lives in Undivided India )

Hey, I moved to London a few months back for ~3 years. I think opening an NRE account is more suitable for me as I need to continue holding my saving-funds in a bank, and I can transfer money from my NRE account to my parents' account, especially, as it's tax-free. You can transfer any money to parents its not taxable , Even You can transfer from your normal account or any NRE Account doesn't matter but if you transfer money to you brother and sister even from NRE Account its is taxable in the hand of receiver of funds as per income tax act

NRE and NRO Account are different Account hence if you have one Saving Account then Some banks will Change Status from Saving account to NRO account but for NRE Account Banks will open fresh Bank Account, But practically due to technical issue major bank will close your savings account and open fresh NRE and NRO Account.
