I haven’t came across no one as far to teach me the differences between, scoring, engraving, and cutting as how you explain it in this video. Others go so fast in teaching you how to use this machine. I thank you a million more times.

Got my Glowforge and have been trying to figure out the best way to explain to my students how to incorporate multiple functions in one project. This is the simplest and most understandable video so far. Thank you for the video. Saved me crom having to drag out my mic and editing software.

You have no idea how glad I am that I found your videos. I drank a whole carton of iced coffee yesterday trying to learn the Glowforge. Thank God for medical marijuana 😂 I was gonna see if you wanted to move in for a month and help me lmfao ...I'm getting there but it's a lot to learn and overwhelming at first so thank you so much for making these videos xo

It'd be neat to add some little people or a chistmas tree outline-triangle that shows up inside the house so you could see them through the windows. Nice explanations.

Hi there, excellent video, I found this very educational! I'm wondering if you know how to do different depths of engraving or etching for the Glowforge on wood? For instance, if I have a 1/2" plywood and want to do a gradation of levels of depth of engraving, how do I do that in Ai so the Glowforge understands one etching or engraving should be deeper than another? Thank you!
@FreshStartCustoms4 жыл бұрын
This would all be done with in the settings in the Glowforge UI. You need to set each engraving to a different color in illustrator then change the settings for each one in Glowforge UI.

How do you change the score line between the red laser cut paths? I tried (Inscape) to eliminate some cut paths so the cut parts connect to the frame look to make it 1 unit look but struggling.
@FreshStartCustoms Жыл бұрын
In illustrator there is a scissors tool that lets you cut the cut line. I use that then cut the two areas I want to be a score and change the center of the two cuts. It might be called something different in Inkscape, not sure since I don’t use Inkscape.
@VuTran-h3l Жыл бұрын
@@FreshStartCustoms yes thank you. I used Inkscape and some similar approaches to connect the nodes.

So, is the only difference between the cut and the score the color of the design? Other than that they are both just a single line path?
@FreshStartCustoms4 жыл бұрын
Yeah they are both a single path just the score doesn't cut all the way through
