This is an excellent video. The filter examples provide context that was entirely lacking in my Digital Signals course.

I want to ask if you did assume the value of the piecewise function x[n]? what is your basis in setting those values to difference equation?

Determine the total solution of the following difference equation: y(n)= 5y(n)-6y(n-2)+x(n) when the forcing function , x(n)= 3^n and initial condition , y(-1)=2 & y(-2)=4. Also, draw the difference equation using building blocks. sir answer please

At 7:52 i dint understand the graph...y(n) was the average of 6 values so how come in graph we see many values....what is the graph a plot of?

It's four months already, but maybe you could still use the answer to your question, mate. And if not, maybe someone else will find it helpful. :) (As far as I understand) the output function y[n] at any discrete time unit n is an average of the values of the input throughout the last six time units. Having so, we should not expect to be one average value of the input signal as a whole. As you can see in the example with input signal a) applied, when x[n] makes its step from 0 to 1 at n = 20, y[n] starts to follow up: at n=20 it is an average of x[20] = 1 and five values prior, all equal to 0. Then, y[21] is an average of two instances of x[n] equal to 1 and four instances equal to 0. This continues to y[26] which is an average of x's from n = 26 to n = 20, all of which are equal to 1, resulting in y[n] finally reaching the value of 1 it was "pursuing". Strictly approaching your question, the graph illustrates the output function y[n] in the time domain. So you can see how an average of the input signal form e.g. last 6 seconds (if we assume N = 1sec) changes in time. As you can probably see (and could have heard in the video) this comes in handy when you would like to smooth out an input signal having some rapid noises/fluctuations, as they will have a somehow limited impact on the output signal.

how to program it with out using filter? also, how did write the code for different inputs?

how can you say that x[n-1] is lower frequency than x[n]. they are just samples in time domain

Put n=0 any then n-1=-1 That is -1
